      WILD- Maintaining focus and conciousness

Okay, so I have been trying WILD for a few weeks now but I keep coming across the same problem. Whenever I try to 'stay awake whilst my body falls asleep' my thoughts seem to always drift from me thinking about staying focused. I always begin to think of other things and then fall asleep soon after. Any ideas on how to maintain focus? Thanks.

It is not about maintaining focus all the way but just not letting your consciousness going too far away from awareness and not for a too long period.
Indeed, staying too much focused can prevent you from falling asleep, or it will lead you to just lost consciousness once for all because your mind want to sleep and is tired from trying too hard to stay focused.
The only moment you really need to be focused is the entry in REM dream, and it lasts only few seconds.
But after a WBTB, it can take a certain amount of time before reaching this precious moment, up to one hour sometime, so you just want to find a way to let your mind going away but not too far, and you want it to come back to your goal sometimes.
The only thing you want to keep in mind when you are wilding is the dream that is coming, not the fact that you are trying to WILD.
      Patience108 and strive like this.

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way
