Binaural beats do not explicity carry the low frequency wave; instead it arises as the interference tone between the left and the right channel. In other words, it doesn't work unless you hear both channels at the same time. |

Well, one thing is that they normally sound completely different from each other. Another thing is that the binaural beats have traditionally been given a rather unique explanation, namely that the desired tone (eg. a theta wave) is generated by the mind, rather than being physically present. Personally, being a physicist, I have some misgivings about that theory, because the same tone is actually physically present (as an interference) - albeit possibly rather quietly. |
