      WILD awareness help!

Hi! So I've seen a lot of people of here saying "I've been trying LD/WILD for a week now and I'm already starting to feel the intense vibrations or getting 'sucked' into my dream!" Then I'm here like MERP I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 3 MONTHS WITH NO PROGRESS. So what ends up happening is I do WBTB. Then I lay on my stomach (most comfortable position) and repeat "I am aware 1 I am aware 2 I am a aware 3" and so on. After I know it, I'm awake and it's the next morning! I don't even get to hypnagogic or sleep paralysis. I know you don't have to induce sleep paralysis but I DO know that you have to have hypnagogia. I kind of feel a little upset as my progress has gone no where. I've posted something like this before a month ago and people were like "Ohh but you get more experience!" Well m8 it's already been a month and I'm stuck in the same place I've been in before. Sometimes I try a different phrase or just count but it never works. Sometimes I'm up for an hour just waiting for something to happen.. Anything. But nothing. If I try to think of a scene I fall asleep. This is usually how I fall asleep because clearing my mind is usually not too relaxing and just silence. Then I fall asleep 15 minutes after I would fall asleep with phrases and etc. I tried clearing my mind just so you know😂 I'm just kind of lost here and don't understand why I can't LD. Any tips would be great on how to stay aware or anything else that would help.

      Thanks!
      Rose

It helps me a lot to sleep in a comfortable position after the wbtb, but not the most comfortable. If I'm too comfortable I end up falling asleep too quickly and not having a chance to wild. :p For me, I try to wild on my back with my arms across my chest like I'm pretending I'm Dracula.

What also helps me to stay aware is to practice maintaining awareness in the presence of my daily thoughts, without wild even being involved! I try that during the day without sleep. I like to imagine my thoughts are like clouds and I step back from them and watch them fly by without being absorbed by them.

I think that maintaining awareness while awake uses the same skills as maintaining awareness while falling asleep. If I am not in a place where I can do that then I have little chance of doing it when falling asleep.
