      Limited control over thoughts

In my lucid dreams, I notice that -particularly towards the end of the dream- my actions feel a bit... off. Like I am no longer really suffering from not being able to use dream control (although I generally stick to the basic things, like flying) but my thoughts, reasoning and actions feel like they are not really mine anymore. I start doing things that surprise me once I wake up, and fudge a lot of interesting scenarios. Could be that it will simply vanish as I increase my mindfulness and awareness.

How do I improve that 'mental control'? (Not standard dream control.) Are there exercises or anything I can do to decrease that loss of control towards the end of the dream? Any replies are appreciated!

You're not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Just relax. Master the day. Then just keep doing that every day.

haha this happens to me a lot, I actually made a thread about it:

      http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...onalities.html

      Check it out!

I am surprised by the things that I can do in a LD (not necessarily in a good way!), I've decided not to judge myself... probably weird suppressed needs will get relieved if I let them be.

      Hope it helps!

Shabby, for me what you're describing is mostly present in non-lucids, but in some lucids as well. I think losing mental control in lucids is a sign of losing awareness - it's like your mind slowly falls back into the non-lucid state, and because of that your personality becomes less characteristic like in any non-lucid dream.

So, basically practicing mindfulness and awareness in waking life will most definitely help, but I also suggest "re-stabilizing" and "re-RCing" throughout the LD to keep you as lucid as possible.
