      Am I getting close to lucidity?

      I've been dream journaling every day for a few weeks now, and I usually remember two or three dreams per night (usually they happen in the morning). I've just starting doing reality checks/questioning reality more. And also, I've tried the MILD technique before going to bed two times now, and both times, I feel like I'm close to being lucid, but never get there. For example, the night before last, in my dream, I was looking for somebody. I walked into a library to look for them, and there was one bookshelf with only copies of "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" (by Stephen LaBerge). And then I turn around, and LaBerge himself is standing right there! I woke up after that. And then last night, I dreamed that I was lucid. I did a reality check, my left hand only had 4 fingers, and then I got this feeling of excitement, and I started floating upwards towards the sky. But, then I got scared and went back down. Then it just continued on into a "normal" dream. But, I wasn't actually lucid at all while this was happening, I was just dreaming of it happening, if that makes any sense. I figure I'm either close to being actually lucid, or my brain is just trolling me XD

      You're on the right track. The more your dreams get filled with thoughts of lucidity, the higher your chances of becoming and staying lucid.
