Can fake wake up after WILD cause sleep walking

      Hey guys!
I have had a few successful attempts at WILD. I do it by staying conscious while falling asleep and after some time I wake up, which happens to be my dream. A friend of mine just warned me that this might cause me to sleep walk. Is this possible?

      Thanks!

      Hi!
I don't think this would cause you to sleepwalk unless you already sleepwalk normally, in which case it might cause it but I'm not sure. Either way there probably isn't anything to worry about!

Dreaming can't cause sleep walking. They are caused by different things.

Both can occur in the same stage of sleep though, so technically it's possible to sleepwalk upon waking up from a WILD. However, the WILD would have to occur in the NREM3 stage of sleep before awakening and having a separate episode of sleep walking take place.

Both events are rare and they wouldn't cause each other, so to have one occur directly after the other would be super rare and only possible of you have the extremely high level of skill to have the consciousness to WILD during NREM 3 despite being sleep deprived or tired enough to sleepwalk.

I do recall reading another thread of somebody who confused a real awakening for a false awakening. I wouldn't worry it, though. These instances are very rare.
