Is it normal to dream in black and white?

For some reason, when I Lucid Dream, I often do so in black and white. This somehow allows me to "see" perfectly fine in the dark. Is there any way to will myself to dream in color?

That's very interesting. Have you always dreamed in black and white while lucid?

It's an interesting metaphor "seeing things in black and white"

I think something like 8-10% of people do.

You could always go upto a door and when you open the door, imagine everything so bright and colourful.

I've also had one or two LDs in black and white. Another thing that has happened is my LDs have "pixelated", usually starting like RL and becoming quickly lower resolution. It's really weird, but also very annoying because it's the dream evaporating!

I think you might try really engaging in the dream, like stabilising, and then maybe you will get some colour. Also, remember that intention is all powerful. Really believe that you will see in colour and it will happen.
Try conjuring up a red flag, or something similar.

I guess I wouldn't exactly call anything "normal". There are common experiences, but hey, everyone's individual experiences vary drastically.

Maybe what could work is something like, in your LD you find/summon a TV, you turn it on and you are certain it will be in colour, and then you can step into the colour world. Might work better instead of trying to add colour to something you're currently in. Just a thought

Another possibility is to just ignore the “problem” (everything being in black and white) and just focus on enjoying the other aspects of the dream. Dreams are sensitive to focus and attention, and aspects that aren't being focused on tend to be forgotten and disappear.
