      Why does this happen?

Since about 4 years ago every single day i have atleast thought about lucid deaming wether its been for a moment or half the day its always on my mind and roughly the past year lucid dreaming has been on my mind atleast once every hour or 2.
Since i spend most of my days thinking of lucid dreams i wonder why everytime i dream it tends to never be to do with lucid dreams not even a dream that i talk to someone about lucud dreamsm
Ofcourse i do all the RCs and induction techniques ect but at most i have 1 or 2 a month and i know its because i havent found my way yet but i suppose its just abit fustrating that my thinking about lucid dreaming is now a permanent habit yet in my dreams the habit is never there?

Whatever that is in your mind that is triggering you to think about lucid dreaming during the day is not on your mind during your dreams. For example, if you think about lucid dreaming during the day whenever you think you're bored, but never think you're bored during your dreams, that trigger of the thoughts about dreaming during the day won't be there during your dreams.

Think about what you are thinking about during your dreams rather than what you're not.

Similar to what dolphin said, the subconscious mind is not the same as the conscious mind. The subconscious (in my experience) is more the realm of symbols and emotions, not logic. Look for dream signs that trigger an emotional response. Intent is also important, but different from will...intent is more subtle...when it is there you sort of "know" or have a "feeling" that you are going to have an LD.
