The VILD technique is rarely every talked about. It seems like MILD without the memory work/mantras

It seems really solid and I'm going to try it for a few months, since I haven't been having consistent success with my WILD attempts. I've had a dozen or so lucid dreams, WILDs, FILDs, and DILDs, but I'm still waiting for something to "click". During my multiple WBTB sessions during the night, I never have the motivation to WILD and going to sleep normally feels so fitting, so this technique could prove effective in that regard.

I heard about this method last year and tried it briefly. Even had an accidental WILD as a result, so there's that. After that I pursued other methods and sort of forgot about VILD until now. There's a lot of information overload when first hearing about LDing!

I've been told visualization is the most key aspects of MILD, so it seems that this technique, paired with mindfulness meditation and reality checks during the day, could lead to consistent DILDs.

      Thoughts?

This method seems like a extension of the regular MILD techniques whose primary modalities are linguistic and intentional. It does make sense, the brain seems to be able to recall visual representations better than purely auditory ones. Also there seems to be a added benefit of starting the lucid dream state off in a way that best fits ones desires and perhaps avoiding dream situations which may give a dark or creepy character to the Lucid dream state overall. I have frequently found myself becoming lucid in dark and menacing environment and then not being able to shake that atmosphere for the whole lucid dream session.

But I would go even a little farther on this by adding the tactile modality to the procedure, I have found in WILD methods that tactile imaginings are the best for me for dislocating the mind from the physical body-enviornment simulation, of course i recognise the distinction between DILD and WILD oriented methodologies, but I recall in a book on Neuro-linguistic programming that the more sensory modalities one uses the more forceful is its effect on altering the mind. What I mean to say is that why should one limit oneself to a single sensory channel when trying to impress a intention on the subconscious mind, however admiral and high held the visual system may be. Perhaps a "Multi sensory imaginational Lucid dream induction technique" of the DILD persuasion would be more advantageous for those who lack strong visualisation ability and to the community at large. A M.S.I.L.D method?
