Question I believe this was a WILD, help me confirm?

Last night I awoke at about 3AM, after having fallen asleep at around 11:30PM. I got up to get a drink, use restroom, etc but at the time I wasn't really thinking about LDing, I just needed to do those things. Got back into bed and had a hard time falling asleep laying on my back so after about 10-20 minutes I finally rolled onto my side and sure enough started to fall asleep. Initially I hit REM atonia, where I woke myself up due to not being able to move pretty quickly, which had been my natural instinct to do as a child but I was kicking myself (not literally) for having done that now since I know I could have used that to LD as I have a few times in the past. So there I lie awake again, but quickly fall back asleep. This time I go from being awake to almost immediately in a field sitting cross legged but remembering how I was just in bed and became aware I was dreaming as soon as I can remember, however if REM atonia had happened again just before this, I have zero memory of it, even from in the dream and was wondering if I just skipped it. I have done WILD and DILD before, and to me this feels like a WILD, but just wanted to confirm.

side note - In the dream I felt as if there was a water balloon in my lap, I could not see anything though, just could feel it. I could even push it with my hands and feel the pressure shift but still it remained invisible. So I concentrated really hard on making it appear, and slowly it became less and less invisible until it was fully there. I had never made an object appear before! But unfortunately the dream was short, I could feel it falling apart and I tried my best to stabilize it but I woke up after only having about 30 seconds of lucidity.

side note - Also anther thing, I think I had a second LD this night, and cant recall it. Somewhere in the my dream state I told myself I had just met my 15 long LD goal I set on dream views, but I can not remember the dream, except that part. I dont know if I truly had a 15 minute LD or I just had a non LD and was saying that. But I do feel like it was aLD that I am not apple to really recall.

      Hi,

it sure sounds like you went straight from being awake to being asleep while never losing awareness.

Just a side note, we normally don't notice rem atonia, because that starts only after we start dreaming. What we may notice though is some transition hallucinations, which many confuse for SP.

To your last paragraph - if it feels like you had a LD, feel free to count it as a yes. LDs are much easier to remember, because they are stored in the part of memory that stores daytime events, not dreams. But if you didn't wake up after it, or did just briefly, went back to sleep and had more dreams, it's quite easy to forget even a LD.

      Happy dreams!
