First of all, don't give up. Many of us tried for weeks or even longer before getting results.

You say you are using MILD -- are you telling yourself that you will remember your dreams when you awaken? What works for me is repeating to myself (as I'm lying in bed) "I will awaken after I dream, and I will remember the dream."

Have you always had poor dream recall, or is this something recent?

Are you under a lot of stress? That can inhibit your recall. So can certain drugs, especially marijuana.

I think the main thing is to keep trying -- but don't be afraid to take a break from it for a few nights, especially if you're getting frustrated. But keep the idea of lucid dreaming in your mind. You may find that one night, when you're not really trying, you'll suddenly have a lucid dream.

There is one technique for improving Dream Recall that has proved quite effective, and that is, when you wake up without remembering a Dream, smack your arm or your leg very hard so as to inflict a good deal of pain. You don't want to cause yourself any permanent injury, of course, but you want your body-mind complex to know that you are no longer just screwing around and you mean serious business. Your Subconscious Mind that had prior to this been regarding your interest in Dreaming as just some silly fad you had gotten involved with, will wince at the pain you inflict because of its non-compliance and will almost immediately put together the nervous infrastructures necessary to have you remember your dreams, and thus manage to escape the dreaded punishments.

The first time I had a lucid dream, I wasn;t planning on it...

Just the fact that I've been reading about it must have helped. I just wanted to improve dream recall, when one night I went lucid and it was great. I think the great this was that I wasn't stressing about it, it just happened.

My advice would be not to worry or stress out about it, it will happen on its own.

      Well...
      1) Dont worry, you will have LDs but in time. Dont hurry....it may happen to you in a night that was not intended.
2)I found Wild not so effective for Beginning.
3)You said you try wild and mild....how can this be done?!? STAY only in one technique.
      4) Well...I will tell you something: Now if I want, I can have a LD in a week! How? RCs (Reality Checks). I find it very effective method! Do this- Take an alarm clock and set it every 30 minutses. When it goes off, ask yourself if u r dreaming and perform a RC....for example close your nose and see if you can breath. Do it Every single day! dont forget to set it every 30 mins.

      Thats all,
      I hope i helped you.

I don’t usually remember any dreams at night. If I get up early 5:30 or 6 and go back for a couple of hours I almost always remember 3 or 4 dreams. WBTS
