Hello everyone,
Many of you have requested examples of my dreaming experiences. So, to get the ball rolling here is an entry from my creative dream scrapbook, a musical piece composed/inspired during a very peculiar lucid dream (a WILD) that rapidly led into a hypnopompic vision, reminiscent of a dimethyltryptamine experience.
Fortunately, this was a night on which I had taken the time to record EEG and EOG data, which I have further used to augment the recording. This data was used to seed and generate the rhythmical and synthesiser elements of the tune.
While I certainly don't consider myself a particularly talented musician, I feel that I've captured the essence of the soundtrack that accompanied the experience. Perhaps it will inspire the creative amongst you to use your own dreams as a source of creativity.
The dream itself occurred during August 2016, and is recorded in my journal under the title, "My Android Bride".
THE DREAM:
I find myself in an impossibly futuristic apartment with a distinctly Asian theme. Lying beside me is a beautiful female android. She beckons me to move closer and, to my surprise, opens a small compartment in the centre of her forehead from which she pulls hair-thin silver wire, the tip of which emits a bright electric-blue light, something resembling an optic fibre.
She places the tip of the cable against my own forehead and I instantly find myself transported to an entirely different scene - a bizarre kaleidoscopic hyperspace, very reminiscent of a dimethyltryptamine vision. It is at this point in the dream that the music starts. From here onwards I am lost in a strange and wonderful vision, which I believe must have been a particularly vivid and powerful hypnopompic hallucination.
To accompany the track I've attempted to recreate the mood of the visual aspect of the dream but it pales in comparison to the experience.
Anyhow, I do hope you find this an interesting insight into my dreaming mind. I've always been fascinated with the idea of bringing something tangible back from the dreamworld, so this is one of my many attempts to do just that...
