I may be running a bit contrary to this tread, but I would suggest that you give as little thought as possible to how many LD's you have, and as much thought as possible to their quality. We're really not in a counting contest here, or at least we shouldn't be, and I think that judging your success by how many LD's you have (rather than the growth of your lucid experience) might become counter-productive over time. 10 short, low-quality LD's are worth far less than one long, high-quality LD. That said:

Maybe you could consider this simple rule of thumb for recording dreams in your DJ: Base them on content. If you have 10 DEILD's that facilitate the continuation of a single dream or dream theme, then consider it one dream; but if your dreams are different with each DEILD, then record them as the different dreams they are. When I DEILD-chain to stay with one dream, I always record it as one dream, usually forgetting to even mention the DEILD's; but when the dreams are different each time (which can happen) I take care to record them separately.
