Question Forced to wake up because of pain

I've had many dreams where I a am in a situation where something should hurt, but it doesn't because its a dream right? But last night, something very strange happened.

I became lucid, however, I had no idea where I was, it was just a black foggy abyss, and the only thing I could see were my hands. When I became lucid, I immediately counted my fingers and concluded I was indeed lucid.
About 5 seconds after this, I could feel myself waking up, and so I said "No! I don't want to wake up yet! I'm not going to leave!" As soon as I said that, I felt an extreme pain that shot through all of my teeth and gums, I have never had something hurt that bad In a dream before. And so, I gave in, I said "Fine! Ok, I'll wake up!" After I wake up, the pain vanishes.

      Any thoughts?

I've had dreams of being cut or hit with the pain being absolutely realistic. Bummer that it terminated your lucidity!

I'm wondering if it is some kind of a tactile Sensation hypnopompic hallucination when you are waking up. It may also just mean that you are more aware of your sleeping body waking up. (IMO)

When trying to explore a lucid dream. I had different types of things try to 'block' either my journey or my ability to be Lucid. Never pain though like that though. It seems like the part of you that didn't want you lucid, was using the pain sensation as a negotiation tool on your conscious part. This is when we start to realize there may be more to this than simply our conscious agendas. It appears we have multiple parts of ourselves in different dynamics.

Some of the things I have encountered in terms of being prevented.

      1) Entrance Blocking. If I go into some building, each time I walk through either a gate or a door, the spaces gets more and more confined or limited, to where there is no escape from the area or the exit just disappears. Even some doors will have some bolt or obstruction on them. Very much reminds me of the scene out of the matrix where the brick walls appeared around the doors and building. When this happens I sometimes had to wake myself up, just because I was stuck and you don't always have the mind power to get through the obstruction for some reason.

      2) False awakenings. Sometimes the dream scenery will react like it's fading, that I'm losing my ability to dream. But it's not really true it's some sort of plot. Then I will 'wake up'. However I didn't lose the ability to dream at all, it seems to be some type of facade to get into another dream where I'm not lucid, under the disguise of a false awakening.
