      Who's on the telephone?

Ok. This is kinda wierd but happens almost very often. It used to happen like every morning, every other week and now it just happens every once in a while. I will wake up from a dream and be talking on an imaginary phone. I'll be having a totally real conversation with the person but I wake up in an upright position like im laying on my bed and talking to a friend. My hand is even up to my ear and I swear, I hear the conversation going on about 5 -10 seconds after I wake up. but im never really awake enough to remember what we're talking about. It's Frikn Crazy and Trips me out everytime. Anybody else experience anything like this? Its pretty funny when you wake up and realize your talking to your hand.

That's interesting! I wonder how that happens? I certainly can't imagine why it happens all the time... Pretty cool though.

I have never experienced that myself, but I have woken up and have the first thing I see be my own knee. Somehow I had been sleeping with my foot resting in the corner of the wall above the head of my bed.

      I never experienced that.
It seems to me that it's some sort of false awakening: you think to be awake, but actually you're still dreaming.

How strange. I have never experienced anything like that. Well, sometimes I will wake up from dreams, and in my dream I'll be holding a cup and Ill wake up suddenly with a tight fist and ti feels so odd that there is no cup in my hand, but thats it.

I've woken up laughing and crying before lol and can't remember why. To me it sounds kinda like some mild form of sleep walking. If you are sitting up and moving around in bed then you aren't in sleep paralysis similar to what happenes when a person is sleep walking and acting out their dreams. I'm not sure what would cause this though, maybe stress related.

      Hmm... a variant of sleepwalking?

I've had that happen to me but only a few times during my life. I'll wake up and keep hearing the person from the dream talk for just a few seconds and it fades away. I think the explanation is that a part of you is still in the dream so you can still hear it.

One time I dreamed I had two left hands, and when I woke up I went ahead and felt my hands and it STILL felt like I had two left hands! That started to freak me out but a few seconds later I gained my composure, looked at my hands, and they were normal.

Sometimes I hear people talk to me or call my name when I'm alone, but this is also uncommon. I remember years ago I was afraid to walk down this hallway one night at my house, but I went ahead and did it anyway. It was dark and all of a sudden I heard a voice whisper my name in my ear. It could have just been my imagination playing tricks on me, but I don't think I've ever ran that fast since then.
