I'm pretty new at this too, so I'm not going to be much help. I've seen the HI and my HI is usually just blobs of color swirling around. etc. I've never experienced a WILD so I may not have gotten deep enough to experience the "old hag" (I don't really know what that is either). I've pretty much gotten to the heart rate increasing, vibrating bed, etc. It's quite the experience even though I've not completed the WILD.

I'm sure others can give you better direction on your other comments/questions.

Both. I have noticed that right b4 entering SP, I can see both things in real time, & some of the hypnotic imagery/sounds. And there is nothing to be scared off...in fact, it is kind of fun.
The old hag is a form of SP (Sleep Paralysis). Old folks thought there was a witch on their chest, which is why they couldn't get up. They got frightened of basically SP & HI.
Again, there is no need to be afraid of SP or HI. SP actually can help you WILD :vibes: (& ...? ). And nothing is going to hurt you. Again, neither SP, HI, WILD, or ...? are dangerous at all.
