      Dreaming and Wellbutrin

\"I have been on Wellbutrin for three months now and have recently started to experience extremely vivid dreams that seem to last much longer than normal. Their nature is usually nightmarish, but not in the sense that I am scared, more in the sense that they are vibrant and on the bizarre side. I have also experienced sudden awakening from a dream where the dream is still lingering for what seems like a 7-8 seconds after I have woken. In other words the dream is still existing in my awakened state. One time I awoke from a dream and tried to respond to a question that someone asked me but I physically couldn't do it: I was literally paralyzed for about 10 seconds or more. I also seem to be talking in my sleep more often (usually waking myself up because of it) and have felt like someone was in the room with me trying to wake me up. There is a tingling sensation that goes along with this and since i live by myself, the initial thought of someone being in the room trying to wake me up is pretty disturbing. It's getting to the point now where I am not looking forward to sleep because I don't want to experience this again. It has happened for about 5 days straight. Since nothing is really bothering me and I have been feeling much better since i started taking the wellbutrin, this is coming as a big surprise. anybody have any sort of explanation or a similar experience?\"[/b]

\"I am in my fourth week of taking Wellbutrin SR. I was weaned off of Paxil for two weeks in the beginning. In the last week or so I've been experiencing extremely vivid dreams. There is more color, definition and remembering of my dreams. What is disturbing to me is that some are nightmares and they are interferring with my sleep. Some nights I fear sleep, afraid that I'll dream. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Thanks for your comments.\"[/b]

I am currently taking Wellbutrin and have had better dream recall. However, other sleep problems are still keeping me from having LD's.

Consciousness is just the tip of the iceberg; most of what goes on in your mind is hidden from you. As a result, your conscious experience can mislead you into thinking that our circuitry is simpler that it really is.

My wife is taking or has taken both of those at one time or another. I don't think it really affects her dreaming -- she's always had bad nightmares, and still does.
