What would a Blind man See if he Lucid Dreamed?

I was wondering, How crazy would it be if you were blind all your life. Would it even be possible to Lucid dream, and if so, I wonder what it would be like.
Sorry if this has been talked about before, But I am new

      Hi! Welcome to Dream Views!

It is an interesting question you pose. Could a person blind since birth see in a lucid dream?

I kind of doubt it since most lucid dreams seem to be a synthesis of things you have experienced in your life.

However.... If you consider that the human mind is hardwired to see....Well, maybe a person could, but, could he interpret and understand what he has seen? From birth, people are conditioned and trained to recognize patterns.

      Interesting though.....other opinions?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

A blind person's dreams consist of input from all senses except sight.
The first thing I thought about was how could they actually realise they were dreaming?
They would have to have a dreamsign that was a smell or taste or noise or feeling.
Just thinking about it is kinda wierd.

Once lucid though, they still don't have any perceptual experience to work with, so their lucid dream would still surely only consist of the four other senses that they possess.

Pretty crazy to think about, imagine if you could see in your lucid dreams but not while awake!

      Interesting question!

earlier onriric said "i think it would be a different world because he dont know how world is." yet, when you think about it, could not our senses be passed on like traits? colors are possibly, actually most likely, different for every person. this would also explain a lot of personal aesthetics in favorite color. same thing with the others, especially taste. so more, YOU don't know how our world is!EITHER DO I!!! NOR ANYONE ELSE!!!

It depends on whether they lost sight from damage to their eyes or their brain.

I once dreamt that I was blind, i wasn't lucid or anything, it was freaky, the dream consisted of me hearing my family members telling me how I lost my sight in an accident. If I get to know a blind person that has been since birth, I will certanly ask him to see what he has to say. Now a person that lost their sight been old or halfway trhu life would probably dream both ways I guess, on one dream blind, and on the other not, would be great for lucid dreaming since if your not able to see and wake into a dream seeing you should figure it out, am i dreamin?

I think that by all means yes, a blind person would be able to see in a lucid dream. Within a dream they wouldn't be impeded by their physically unusable eyes. However, what they did see would most likely be a manifestation of what they EXPECTED the world to look like from what they have gathered from other senses. It would likely be very skewed compared to what sighted people observe in reality.

Good point. Since the blind person has only Heard, Tasted, Felt, and Smelled the real world I bet those would be totally random in an LD. I also think that the sounds in the dream would be superimposed.

Yes there are many posts about this. fact.
If you were blind from birth you will not have any visual stimulation to manifest a lucid dream.

If you became blind after birth you memory can create images based on the ones they have seen and could pose from that.
