Thread: Falling in Love by Lucid Dreams?

Well, this mind sound cheesy, but it is very true

I have already liked some people, but for some reason, whenever I lucid dream about them, once, I wake up and I am completely madly in love with them.

I want to see them, I have this mad love for some reason. Just because I dreamt about them. It is very odd, I just always want to see them, and the whole day I keep thinking about them.

My dream was, I was sitting (this was a very short lucid dream) in an arena, and one of the people I liked was walking up the aisles, and then she saw me because I was staring straight into her eyes. then she came over, put her arm around me and then we looked each other in the eyes for awhile, and it was the most beautiful and charming eyes I have ever seen.

Her hair was partially covering her face, and I could see her happy, and smiling. Then she left, and then I woke up.

And now, I am MADLY in love with them . I think she has the most wonderful eyes in the world even though I saw the eyes just in a dream

Is this normal?

p.s: because I kept thinking about them, I went to bed trying to WILD, but I came very close, but I never went into sleeping. Breathing got harder, and softer and I couldnt feel my lips for some reason.

But that is besides the point, because I kept thnking about this person the whole day, I dreamt about them again at night, but they looked different, but my mind was so convinced that it was them.

Is that normal too?

I must say that I can certainly comprehend what you're saying, although I do not have personal experience of it.

The closest I have experienced is having a feeling of falling in love with a fictional dream character (one who I do not know from real life) and wanting to meet them again in another lucid dream.

But, as with most feelings that are carried forward from dreams, it fades rather rapidly. I don't think it's unusual for your mind to generate emotion from dreams like this.

Usually a lucid dream is like a vivid one, and when you have vivid dreams of someone. Your brain may release tons of hormones and chemicals showing affection for that person you like.

And when you wake up, it can be hard to get that out of your mind.

I know what you mean! Trust me!

In 6th grade, after saving someone from suicide, I had a really vivid dream about her, and all day I thought about her like mad. then I thought, "Is this what falling in love is like?"

this has happened more than once, and I sort of love falling in love like this. Do you know how to not make it fade? so I keep liking them? It keeps me focused and keeps me happy in some way.

In 5th grade or something i fell madly in love with a girl from my class, i didnt talk to her anytime and i dindt really knew her. It lasted like a day or 2, and then it was gone.
The thing about the hormones sounds good, because it only lasted so short time.

Something like that actually just happened to me last night(although it wasn't a lucid dream). A girl that I know and really like in real life came up to me in the dream and started joking about me always forgetting things, and we ended up having a great conversation that ended in us both having huge smiles and me chasing her around. There was definately a connection in the dream.

When I woke up, I felt really excited, like, 'maybe she feels this way about me in real life, too?" Maybe that's it, it's the fact that it's so lifelike that it seems the person really does love you.

LIke everyone else said your not the only one . For a few weeks my best friend kept having a reacurring dream character who he liked a lot in the dream and always talked about her all the time. eventually he knew her name and what she looked like. then one night he had this random girl add him to his msn and it was her name and then on her profile had the picture of the girl to...he didnnt talk to her or anything just blocked her and that was it..(I dont no how, I would have talked to her all night) but that was it.. so yes I think the horomones have something to do with it..and plus its sorta strange so your going to think about it anyways.

For me, things like this change like the weather. Even though I am currently harboring an infatuation for a girl I know, this has come and passed before, so I know not to give it too much attention

This has happened to me too. Many. Many. Times. Let's see:
1) First, I once had this extremely long vivid dream. It is one of the only (pre-finding out about DVs) dreams that I still remember and think about regularly. It was actually so vivid, that it was my first dream with a moment of lucidity in it. Anyway, going into details would take to long so I'll summarize: There was this girl I met at this cart racing track. She beat me and my friend and he dared me to talk to her so I did. We talked a lot and fell in love or whatever. Then, the dream was one of those extended time dreams, and months and years would pass and we were still going out. It was amazing. I found out her name too. It was Shell Borman. So anyway, eventually, someone at my dream school told me that she was bad news and that she cheats, but I didn't believe him. Later, I met up with her, but she looked all different; she looked slutty. Then she was acting all weird, as if we weren't in love and she just left. I didn't know what to think. Then I woke up. I was so desperate to go back and find out what happened that I actually tried to return to the dream right after, and then again everyday for the next two weeks. I never did . But I plan one day when I have another LD to go back and find out.

2) I went to Hogwarts and fell in love with Ginny Weasly (lol). In this case however, I actually managed to make her return in many other dreams and actually almost had a day to day relationship with her. It was awesome. Then I just stopped. Don''t know why.

3) This girl from my school, I'll call her M was in my dream. I liked her in real life one time in middle school and now I don't, but I still have feelings for her, like if she goes out with anyone, I feel jealous as if they took her, though I don't like her anymore; it's weird. Well anyway, in the dream we made out and then I was INSANELY in love with her. I then woke up, and I actually talked to her at school a lot and felt good. That night, I read her xanga and I found out she had a boyfriend. Worst of all, it was the person that I hate the most in the entire universe. So it all broke down, and I was actually depressed for a couple of weeks. I didn't talk and felt like shit. Then I got over it and just didn't like her anymore.

So yeah, you're not even close to being the only one.

I had this dream over a year ago where i just remember seeing the perfect girl and she smiled at me. I "fell in love" with her and got depressed for like a month.

That happened to me, but in real life. I was on my vacation to Israel and we went to some random village, and this girl (she was defenitely a tourist because she was blond and stuff) was THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL EVER. I actually have no doubt of this. It was just insane. I don't think I ever saw before or ever will see someone like that. She's just indescribable. I didn't even get her name, and I tried to atleast take a picture, but the camera was out of film . I was depressed for a month too.

I think what you are all experiencing is an amazing chemical cocktail called infatuation. Dreams are very real. You're having the same chemical and hormonal reaction you'd have if you were actually with the girl, but that wouldn't be love either. You cannot "fall madly in love" with a dream character, not in the true sense of the word. You don't fall madly in love with a person's eyes or hair, no matter how beautiful they are. You love the person, who is not in the dream. Unless you had a shared dream. Also, being in love doesn't wear off in a few days or switch from person to person! Moogies, you probably have feelings for this girl in real life, and they are manifesting in your dreams. If you are madly in love with the girl, you're in love with the girl, not what she looks like or the experiences you've had with her. How well do you know this girl's personality? This would affect how accurate the dream character version of her would be.

I used to have similar feelings after dreams when I was a (pre)teen. I created my "dream" guy (subconciously) and had many dream experiences with him. I would never say that I loved him, but at the time I did figure that this is what falling in love must be like. Rest assured, this is very normal. However, I did fall in love in real life, and the connection is much different and intense than anything you could feel for a DC. And it goes way beyond the fluttering stomach and lust. And it won't fade away after a few days. There have to be two real people to experience love. I'm not trying to trivialize anyone's attachment to anyone, I promise. But the way you are all describing "love" is trivializing the concept.

Hey, same experience too, except it only happened once, I was depressed all morning until I poured my cherios into my bowl of milk. But yeah I wish my dream girl was real, but i'd probably be the first to admit that its infactuation and not indeed "real" love cause its too perfect in a dream.

I once dreamed that "I" fell in love with some girl and "we" got married (by an old-skool airplane pilot, no less) D:
Used quotes there because it was partly in third person, definitely not lucid. It was sort of like watching a film but not paying much attention. I never even knew the name of the girl, we never kissed or anything, just held hands :/

I've experienced a very memorable dream where I caught a glimpse of a girl who looked just like Emma Watson, and as soon as I saw her I somehow knew her personality; and it was perfect. I'm sure the brain must be able to create your perfect personality in a dream character. Are you saying this 'love' is purely chemical, even if the said girl has my idea of a perfect personality?

Intersting, all the reponses so far are from males. I've never had a dream like this, of falling in love. It's a kind of 'red flag' if a women senses a man is hitting on her and talks about a 'dream' of her.

The information about falling in love and brain chemistry is quite factual. You can find a lot of info on that online. The 'high' of being in love is due to a rush of phenylethylamine and dopamine in the brain. It can be addicting.
