Aware of outside world during lucid dream?

How many of you have ever been aware of the outside world during your lucid dream? For instance once during my lucid dream, it was still early and my parents were still awake. My mom was the floor above me and was walking around and making a lot of noise. I could hear the noise and in my dream I thought to myself, "why won't she quiet down or else she's gonna wake me up". Or maybe you remembered you fell asleep when you weren't supposed to and had to wake yourself up. It's quite a cool feeling being totally aware of the waking world while your standing in your dream world.

      I never posted in ages

This is basicaly what you call a high level of lucidity, knowing that you are safe in bed while dreaming or having thoughts of what you have to do that day when you wake up ect. it,s quite common

I find this distracting because I would prefer being able to concentrate on the moment that I am in . Once I know i,m sleeping in bed then I want to enjoy my limited amount of time with awarness in my dream. One of the first things I attempt is flight.

The closet I have been to this, is that I could feel my real eyes in some Lucid Dreams.

Oh, yes, that has happened many times. Usually, if that happens, I may slip into a FA, or maybe even decide at that point to get up, & fly away.......? style.
Typically, I choose to ignore it though....and splash sometimes uses that point to become Lucid. It is a nice thing to happen, though!!

Well sometimes I have these 'half dreams'. Mostly when I go to bed. I am not a sleep, yet I feel like I am in a dream, and stuff is happening. But I do not really 'see' it yet. My brain does, but my eyes allso see darkness.

I guess you could have an LD while still noticing your surroundings. Doesn't seem like a nice thing however. Wouldn't moving make you moving IRL? :0

Sleep paralysis fortunatly blocks out all movement. It does not block sound, however, so you can dream things while hearing sounds in the outside world. For example, this morning I had a short dream sequence about my niece singing (she's a singer/songwriter), and that was because my mom was singing one floor below. Eventually woke me up.

In my last good LD, I heard the alarm clock. It echoed across the landscape of the dream. I knew it was time to wake up but didn't want to. I tried to ignore it and go on with the dream but I eventually gave in.

In non lucid dreams, the music I listen while sleeping to sometimes plays a role in my dreams. Or sometimes I can hear 'phantom snoring'. My sig other snores rather loudly, carries over into my dreams on rare occasions. Maybe I can use these to become lucid too???

In some lucid dreams I am aware of my waking life. Sometimes I can feel myself breathing, or even hear myself breathing. Sometimes I can feel my body when I am beginning to wake up, but still dreaming.

In other lucid dreams, I don't have any awareness of my waking life at all. These dreams are epic and amazing.

That's happened a couple of times to me. Once I was lucid and I thought about how I was actually in bed and lost lucidity

I think that happens to me every time I have a LD, after only a few seconds, as the dream fades away and I begin to wake up...
