Etremely Weird Phenomenon: Dream personality switch

Wow, I had one of my weirdest dream/waking phenomenons a couple weeks ago. I had woken up from a dream, and was in the half in/ half out stage that happens sometimes, and also I had opened my eyes a couple times in this extremely gradual wake-up. This in itself is weird but not all that uncommon. However I was a different person in the dream.

I had been some female character in the dream (the first time this had happened). I had woken up from the dream, opened my eyes, stared at my couch and continued to think in the consciousness of the DC I had been. Then, half way through the train of thought (still with my eyes open) I "woke up" and shifted consciousness from my DC personality back to my own.

It was quite possibly the weirdest thing I have ever experienced. The change itself I can only describe as a kind of downshift, or grounding, of my mental process. But then again the feeling was basically undescribable. I had been in my body, awake, thinking with the mind of a DC, then changed back to myself in a split second transition.

What happened here was that you received a Memory Module from some female Spirit who wanted you to have a glimpse of her experiences. Certainly when you 'play back' another person's memory, it will seem as though you are having a First Person experience from the viewpoint of another person.

It is this receiving of Memory Gifts from other souls that the confusion resulted that supposes the idea of Transmigration of Souls and Reincarnation. One has a Memory of being another person, and instead of supposing that it was simply a memory provided by another discrete soul, the outrageous assumption is entertained that one had actually been this person in a 'past life'.

Sometimes I think that people are more the same then they are different, and given similar circumstances, the feelings and thought processes that arise following our experiences are not too awfully different from one person to the next. So it may be that many of our Dreams may simply be Memory Modules which are a gift from certain Sympathetic Souls who want to share something of themselves with us. It is possible to go through entire dreams without knowing that we are somebody else, as we need to reflect that it is not very often that we see ourselves in a mirror during our dreams. Indeed, one time I did notice myself in a mirror during a dream (well, actually a very reflective glass door) and I saw that instead of being this Old Man that I am, I was a svelte yound lady. I had been in this dream for quite a few minutes and had no sense at all that I was anything different than my ordinary self.

I'm don't agree with Leo's Memory Module explanation. I've had many dreams where I was someone else. These mostly just seem to be my imagination exploring different aspects of my personality, or different ways of being "me".

Alternatively, you're empathising with someon else. This experience is a bit more extreme. The person may be a real person, or an amalgamation or generalisation. To empathise and put ourselves in another's position is a very human and normal thing to do. In the freedom of our dreams, we can take empathy to a new level. But I don't believe there's anything being transmitted to you - the process is due to you and your thoughts.

What might have happened to you is that you were lucid while you were waking up, so were able to observe the change from the dream state to the waking state. None of us are ever really thinking straight when in a dream, so I imagine there would be this feeling of "grounding" anyway. It might have been especially noticeable this time because of the particularly great dissimilarity between dreaming and waking state.

Yeah Leo you are kind of far out. There is no way of knowing all this stuff for sure.

I think your mind was just playing with your. Randomy. Without a point....

Were you a hot girl btw?

One of my Angels once gave me a cryptic piece of Wisdom which is still something of a conumdrum to me, and that is "Perfection extends all the way to the Random". I think this refers to the Mind's tendency to impose conception, pattern and form to every detail of our perceptual or mental data. But the problem with most forms or patterns is that they are all to some degree a Subset to the Universal. Patterns are essentially exclusionary. Perfection, on the other hand, is inclusive -- including even the 'Random'.

But, now to particulars, what is easier to believe, that the mind can create an entire persona and history from scratch, or that it somehow receives a package of information and simply plays it back. If we had no substantiated detail, then we could resign ourselves to the premise of simple creative imagination. But there are too many empirical problems encountered here. For instance, there was the instance of a little girl who would awake from her dreams being able to speak French, but not any modern French but the French of several centuries ago. No imagination could account for such a thing, and certain silly people had pointed to the event as a proof for reincarnation. But it is most easily explained as a shared memory.

Interesting theory leo, one I had never really thought of. Its really too bad that other than the fact that I was female, I remember basically nothing of the dream. At one point I was standing on a city street corner, but thats all. Certainly something to think about though.

Well, consider this, then. You are not alone. Out there in the Spiritual Vastness, some female Spirit has taken it on herself to feel enough sympathy for you to the extent of sharing her viewpoint and perceptions with you -- something of a mind meld. She hasn't shown you anything that appears to be an important memory, but has chosen to visit her persona upon you.

You have a friend on the other side.

Hypnotists can make you believe you are of the opposite sex, said anatomy and all included. For example, you could tell a gal she's a man and in the 'beta' state, she would imagine herself with a penis and could indeed wank herself off, in abundant pleasure.

      Your mind is powerful, no?
Yes you know I'll die for you
And ya know I'll ride with you
I will always try with you
And give ya my love, and cry with you
