Thread: What did I do?

Ok, last night my dream started off by me walking into a room and I think walking into a portal. All of the sudden I relize that I'm dreaming and I'm all exited and I do a whole bunch of things and then I see my mom and tell her I'm lucid and I'm so exited.

But I really wasn't lucid! I didn't control it, It was like any other dream! So.. What exactly did I do? Was it a sign that I'm getting closer to being able to be lucid? I'm confused about this dream!

if you knew you were dreaming, you were lucid. it's very easy to lose lucidity in a dream and forget you are dreaming. it's also possible to switch back and forth many times, or to realize you are dreaming but not completely realize what that implies. it sounds like your case may either be the last situation i described, or just a lack of dream control--but it sounds like you are very close to success!
