Thread: Seth and Castaneda anyone?

Has anyone read any of these works? 8)
if so what did u think?
can u recommend other works that would benefit a reader of the works mentioned above?

I've read a number of Casteneda's novels. Actually, because of Journey to Itlan, I had my first LD.

i'm guessing your refer to the 'seth' of jane roberts? if so i have read "seth speaks", along with most of castaneda's literature.

i can't think of anything else of worth in that sort of vein. perhaps you could look into the 'sleeping prophet' edgar cayce? i have read virtually nothing by him, but from the way he is referenced he seem to fall in the seth sort of genre...

As of this weekend, I have finished ALL of Castaneda's works. Like Gwen, it was his writings that introduced me to LDs as well.

Please look into the books written by Stephan LaBerge. They are the most helpful.

Also, take a look at the tutorials, there is a lot of knowledge captured in them as well!

I believe, even if the story behind all that is made up,
the basics of spiritual-consciousness stuff are true.
Including flyer thing.(the thing most people cant even conceive of)
And yes, its better not to talk about it, they really dont like it .LOL

I've read all of Castaneda's stuff up to "The Fire Within". If it wasn't for "The Teachings of don Juan" not only would i not have gotten into lucid dreaming when i did (if at all), but i wouldn't be who i am today. Whether the content is true or not, those books still touched me in a profound way, and i'm a different (and better in my opinion) person because of them. They opened the gates for anything and everything para-physical and spiritual.

I should really pick up the rest of his books. I've taken long enough

yes, I am referring to the Seth of Jane Roberts. Is she still alive? Can I ask her questions?

In the Seth book im reading now....(the Seth Material) The chapter where they introduce the Future Seth or Seth 2....that is fricken amazing.....

When I read the Castaneda stuff I keep wanted to actually go to Mexico and find a teacher...so bad.....but I don't know any Spanish...heh

Jane Roberts died of rheumatoid arthritis in the mid-1980s. There is a teacher out of NYC, Rick Stack, who continues to teach out of Manhattan. Stack was a student of Jane's during the 70s as she held small classes from out of her home where she would go into trance and speak for Seth. Stack wrote a book called Adventures Out of the Body which is a very concise treatise on OBEs from the perspective of the Seth material. Another great read about dreaming and OBEs from a metaphysical point of view is Seth, Dreams, and Projections of Consciousness by Jane Roberts if you haven't checked that one out. That book was my entry into OBEs after I'd been having some really unsettling spontaneous separations from my body. It's really a refreshing read since Jane often injected her own critical intellectualism of her channeling and OBEs and other mystical experiences.
