Hey Theresa, what I find strange is that you were able to "fall asleep" in your dream without waking up in real life.
One technique that LaBerge has documented himself is that in order to wake up from a dream, one should do the opposite as in real life. So, if you wanted to wake up in a dream, simply lay down, close your eyes and sleep. This (supposedly) will wake you out of a dream.
I wonder, do you actually remember laying your head down and going to sleep - or was it maybe the thought that you all agreed to go to sleep, but really you skipped from that part to "waking up" in the next dream? Kind of like when you see a movie and a person lays down in bed, then the scene skips to them waking up. This implies that the person slept all night, but in reality only seconds passed.
I can't say for sure if LaBerge's technique works for everyone which is why I'm interested to hear about how it is you recall your experience.
