Oh, I had a similair experience where I went through an entire false day. However, just a few hours ago, I had countless false awakenings. Somewhere above 20 (not so countless actually), each time realizing after a few seconds. In one I threw a knife into my brother's back after confirming it really was a dream (I saw the cosmos erupting at the foot of my bed, among other things.) 30 minute nap, and yet one of the weirdest nights ever.

about 2 min or so. I "woke up" went to my computer to turn it off and waited while it shut down. Itunes was working kind of funny so i tried to fix it. I then woke up for real and then went to do the exact same thing

I've had FAs I didn't even realize were FAs until I woke up.

I had one this morning. I had it a dream, and it ended, and I kept dreaming, about me waking up in a very dream-like state like Sleep-Paralysis, except on the rare occasions I got to open my eyes, I realized it wasn't my room (it was a different room in the house). It was really cool because I began to move my hands above me and they started to warp and go back to normal and warp again. Because I could not move in this dream, I decided to go out-of-body in my dream, and that worked! I finally figured out a way to defeat those stupid dreams where you can't move or can barely move!

Its pretty embarassing.... but im not a person to really care about embarassment..

Anyway, i was something like 9-11 years old, i woke up in my dream and had to go to the toilet real bad. So i put on my pants and walked to the toilet, the light was shining in my eyes and i could hardly see. I dropped down my pants, and PSSSHHHH.... walked back to my bed and then.... I woke up

Everytime I wake up now I have difficulty seperating reality from dreams.

This morning I got up, atleast I thought so.
I made a cup of coffee, walked into my living room and turned on the TV.
When the TV started melting I began to think maybe I was dreaming.

Everything seemed real, the coffee cup, the sleep "inertia" and even the TV.

I guess it's mostly because I'm slightly sleep deprived but aren't we all.

Before I knew about lucid dreaming, I had a very long FA. Well I actually woke up one morning for school, went back to sleep withing 30 seconds and dreamt of getting up and going to school.

One of the worst dreams ever, it seemed like an entire week of school, with the scenes at home skipping to distort time. Worst week of school ever too, everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

Then when I woke up for real, I just thought, "It's the weekend, why have I been woken?" I didn't realise until I saw the date.

I had that happen at least once when I was a kid also -- I think it's pretty common. Although mine wasn't a FA -- "going potty" was just part of the dream I was in.

I had one series of about 4 FAs in a row -- probably lasted about 10-15 minutes or so all together. I kept hearing a noise, and getting out of bed to see what it was, only to find myself back in bed hearing the noise again after a minute or two. It finally turned into a LD when I realized that I shouldn't be waking up at my parent's house.

only a few seconds?? O.O thats lucky!

no, I've done the whole - get up - brush your teeth - eat breakfast - get ready - go to school - and not wake up until there is a surprise exam that I didnt know about or studied for deal!

I don't remember much detail (my dream recall is shockingly bad at the moment) but I had a FA a few weeks ago. I remember being on the train to London to go to my interview but I don't remember getting up, dressing etc.

I have only had one FA in my life, and it was horrible.

I don't even want to talk about it. It was a really good thing that everything was fine when I did wake up.

I'm not sure this is *exactly* a false awakening? But when I was in high school, my mom would wake me up and drive me to school in the morning. One day, she woke me up and I got out of bed, took a shower, got dressed and ready to go, and looked at the clock. I realized I was unusually fast that morning and since I was still tired, I jumped back into bed, clothes and all for a few extra minutes of sleep. Perhaps ten minutes later, my mom comes and knocks on my door, screaming that I am late and need to get up right away! I jump out of bed to calm her down and explain that I was just taking a little nap and I was ready, but looked down and realized I was in my PJs still - I must have fallen immediately back to sleep after she woke me up the first time. Oops!

Total perceived duration of the FA was about 30 minutes, but in reality it couldn't have been more than 10, maybe 15 before my mom would have come back to wake me up again.
