      "Dreaming While Awake"

There's this book called "Dream While Awake:Techniques for 24-Hour Lucid Dreaming."

It talks about noticing your dreaming mind while in a waking state. (Yes, it's operating in the background) When you get associated to the subtle cues of this "daydreaming" you are more able to predict and notice when you're sleep dreaming. It expands way further than just sleep dreaming, which happens only when you sleep. That's why I find this interesting, because you have more choices for improving Lucid Dreaming while being awake. Also, it makes you more susceptible to Lucid Dreams, of course.

that sounds kind-of (if not totally) like it was describing reality checks.
Have a WONDERFUL day, and when you're done, have a GREAT night's sleep. (and i hope you still think im as cute as a button)

Do you have this book? It sounds pretty interesting...

What is hard about LDing is that you only have so much time to practice it, but if you could do so the entire day, then it wouldn't be hard to master....
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

that is totally factual. what you do during the day is just as important as the techniques you try at night/early morning. i do it all the time, i am constantly looking at my hands during the day, asking myself 'is this a dream?' and just doing stuff to raise my awareness like really focusing on any objects or scenery. sounds like an interesting book

Sometimes I test reality during the day.
I just look at the world around me, but with a different attitude. I try to separate all knowledge I have, all predictions, all the stuff in my head and look at the world with eyes of a newborn child.
(I guess I can meditate upon this sometime...)

I can hardly put what I feel into words.
It feels like whole world is fake, flat we've been tricked into believing it's the ultimate reality, while it's not... It's sort of prison?
Everything seems to lose depth and I see/feel/imagine it's being painted inside my mind...

I want to close my eyes and step outside my body...
It seems so close - just a step away and I'll transcend planes...

However some part of my mind keeps a tight grip on my feelings. I know it will not allow me to do what I want to do...

      very confusing..

Nah, it's not necessary to do conscious training during the day. You can merely "marginalize" whatever happens to you, meaning that you can critique what's going on around you and dismiss them as not central to you. Sort of like realizing that nothing is not as bad or good as you think they might be. Which is why Buddhists will say "Every day is a fine day."
