      Crap at lucid dreaming

Hi guys, it's my first post here so go easy on me

I suffer from sleep paralysis. I have these experiences once every few months. During these episodes, I notice something around me. I think its called the old hag syndrome. Anyway, I obviously get very scared when I do get these.

I think that it is affecting me when I gain control over my dreams. When I am having a lucid dream, I end up thinking that the thing that I sense, and sometimes see will appear here also, and this is before I make myself want to fly (I really hope I do this soon). When I do get this fear, I often try to force myself to wake up, and I don't get to do anything I want to.

Is there anyway I can get rid of these feelings when I am dreaming?

btw, I don't often get these dreams and my first lucid dream wasn't that long ago.

Also, while I'm dreaming, I don't know if this is normal, but I don't think I am having a lucid dream. I just know that I have control of myself (can't really describe that fully since I've never really gotten to do anything, but I do get a sense of control over my dream)

I've only flown once (that I can remember) in my dreams. And that was when I was much, much longer. The dream wasn't lucid, flying just seemed like a normal happening, and when I did it, it wasn't anything spectacular to me. It was later when I woke up that I realized "Wow, I flew."

So, I get what you're saying. It seems like I had more power in my non-lucid dreams that I had in my lucid dreams. This is probably because I never actually attempted to excercise any control while I was lucid. Being lucid didn't seem like anything special to me at the time, which was many years ago.
