      Numberology and LD

This morning I had my first Lucid Dream. The day was the 27th, 2+7=9. I woke up from it @ exactly 3:33 am. 3+3+3=9. Maybe just a strange coincidence, but I wonder if the number 9 is connected to a higher consciences or am I just reading too much into it. Lately I have been seeing strange times when I look at a clock... 11:11, 2:22, 3:33, and 5:55. I don’t know what to make of it maybe its nothing.

Don't know what that might mean... interesting, though.
There was a period of time a few months back where I would wake up at 1:23 AM EVERY single morning. Doesn't happen any more, but it lasted for more than a week.

What would be the point in some higher power lining up the number nine for your first lucid dream?

Im gonna have to say there is no way that is of any importance.

Heheheh. That was one of the funniest things I've read in a long while. Do you reckon people are really serious about all this stupid shit?

I guarantee they are. People will believe anything. Although numbers can be very relevant and are very often used for some intended purpose. The number 9 in this case may not be all that important at all but it could possibly be something as simple as you forgot about an appointment you had at 9 o'clock. Who knows but numberology certainly exists everywhere in our daily lives. the movie V for Vendetta Revolves around the number 5. The video game Halo revolves around the number 7 as well as the Bible. In the preface to the newly released A Clockwork Orange the author explains his specific reasoning for making exactly 21 chapters (before the last chapter got cut off here in America). In short it is very possible that the number 9 has some significance. Dreams do communicate things to us that our consious mind is not aware of. But most likely this significance is to you personally and not part of some higher... state.

      Most likely? DEFINITELY, more like.

ANYTHING to do with numerology is complete and utter trash.

I mean... it's based TOTALLY on a base ten number system. Like, the moment you change THAT, it means utterly nothing, and all the "patterns" disappear. It's so arbitrary, and so stupid. To my knowldege, there's nothing inherantly superior about a base ten number system. NO reason to use it in favour over other systems. Numerology is based on that system. So... yeah. TOTALLY stupid.

Thank you! It's funny how many people think that there is some divine force causing them to notice patterns in their digital clock. People try to find meaning for life in anything. By the way, Meanie, did you read the message board? You'll be in for a laugh.

When I saw the main page, I thought it was a joke. I'm naive.

Wow, I can't believe people believe this kind of thing. As for the number nine. No, it means nothing and yes, you've been reading waaaaaaaaay too much into numerology. I see clocks displaying "13:37" (1:37pm on a normal 24 hour clock ) all the time now that I know what that means. Before that I never saw that time at all. That's simply how your mind works and that's why reading too much into numerology makes you go insane. ^.^

Yeah this webpage is taking it a little too far.

As far as numerology is concerned, there seems to be at least some truth behind it. I am a 7 life path and the desciption of a 7 seems to fit my life perfectly. I dont put a lot of faith behind numerology. It is a lot of fun kinda like reading your horoscope.

In the case of my LD, I found it to be a strange synchronicity that I could not ignore. Especially since I have been seing those times more and more.

You have a point. Perhaps now that I am aware of it I notice it more.

I once read a on a website how people's favorite colors were associated with their personalities. For each color there was a personality description of the people of whom this was the favorite color.
My favorite color is yellow, and when I read the personality description under that color, I was amazed to find that it fit my personality almost perfectly.

Does this mean there may be a connection between your favorite color and your personality?
      Possibly
Does this mean all people whose favorite color is yellow are like that (and thus, like me)? Definitly not
Does this prove there is a connection between the two?
      Not at all.

You may understand what I'm trying to say here, which is that numerology is the same as this example. The fact that this description fits you so well implies that there may be some truth to the whole thing of numerology. However, don't forget that it will by no means lead to the correct answer at all times and that there is no proof that numerology isn't completely random bullshit.

It is therefore important not to get obsessed with things like this. They can be fun to read into, but dangerous to base decisions on. In other words, keep numerology as a hobby, but not as a guide.

Or maybe these kinds of things are so broad that ninety percent of the people that read them will find ways to relate to them.

I think that tends to be true most of the time... but... Growing up I never believed in astrology, until one day I read a Capricorn description that said most Capricorns tend to not believe in astrology because their descriptions are always so negative. Steady, responsible, strong will, disciplined, reclusive, morbid, fatalistic, distaste of people, etc... It was then I realized just how much of a stereotypical Capricorn that I am. Now I blame the stars on my short comings. *Falls to knees with fists in air* DAMN THEE! DAMN THEE TO BURN IN HELLFIRES, WRETCHED UNIVERSE!

      Argh! Okay. LOOK:

Numerology does not, and CANNOT, have ANY truth or ANY meaning at all. Why?

For numerology to have any relevance or meaning, it would have to be an objective system, and be some objective truth.

Our numbering system is NOT objective. It's completely subjective, and based on a base-ten number system. If you work on a base-nine number system, or ANY other system other than base-ten, this totally invalidates all numerlogical concepts.

You cannot get any objective meaning from a subjective, man-made system.

The ONLY thing you can say is that numerology has an effect on a subconscious level, because people believe in it and thus their belief, or knowledge of numerological personality descriptions, whatever, affects their behaviour and personality.

The exact same logic applies to astrological personality descriptions: It's NOT objective because of different seasonal cycles in both hemispheres, etc.

Colours are more difficult, but, it's possible that colours do have some objective meaning: they are associated with certain objects in the world... blue with water, etc. And thus, colour-related personality descriptions MAY have SOME truth.

Numerology, however ,is COMPLETE and UTTER rubbish. there is no objectivity whatsoever behind it.

I used to see 9:11 all the time. I knew something was wrong... i just felt it. Well, needless to say something was wrong, terribly wrong. I woke up in the morning at 9:11 and sure enough my worst nightmares had come true. I just couldn't put it all together, but it was all in my mind. Everything that happened on that day was meant to happen and i knew it! You might think i am crazy, but aren't we all?

PS: Just a little joke... maybe i went to far.

      --EDIT--

Alright. I just disproved my theory. I guess it was just coinsidence after all. I know go ahead call me a freak. LOL.
