      Hypnotise yourself to lucid dreams...

I think that the fastest easiest (for you) way to learn lucid dreaming is by hypnosis. (I know hypnosis was in another thread but I forget which one) They can just tell you to relize your dreaming that night and that you will have lucid dreams every night (and they can add in lose 10 pounds just for kicks) and that you will have full control. The only problem with this is it might cost 200$ or more. I'm not sure exactly how much it would cost.

I wish someone in my family was a hypnotist.....

      Any thoughts?

First I think I would try on my own. I think their is a certain amount of "FUN" involved in training your mind to induce lucid dreams at will. Also, there is no guarantee that lucid dreaming by means of hypnosis will help increase your dream recall as well. Incase your not sure what im talking about, dream recall is your ability to rememeber dreams and is considered by any oneironaut to be the MOST important skill used when practicing to attain lucidity.

However, if after months of trying I have very few lucid dreams or none at all, I might consider hypnosis.

Pretty much exactly what I thought and yes I knew what dream recall was/is. You can also ask the hypnotist to make you remember more dreams. In the begging I thought I was very good because I had 3 lucid dreams within a short amount of time. I haven't had one for about 2 or so months. So I think hypnosis would be an awesome extremely quick way to "learn" lucid dreaming with good results.

I think hypnosis is another one of those "results may vary" sort of things. If I found someone that I believed was capable of inducing hypnosis in me, I might give it a try, but I'd never pay for it.

i think it's cheating and if you do it you don't deserve to be called and expert lucid dreamer. that's my opinion.

Hmm, yes *stroking chin acting intelligent*. Well, there are ways that it is possible to hypnotise yourself. You get into a sort of state and then say stuff to yourself. Also, I think that if someone is a proffesional hypnotist then they can make you lucid because they tap your sub concious mind (I think) and say things. I'm not dissagreeing with you though. Also, the only reason I would want someone to hypnotise me is if I see no results in my lucid dreaming.

Hey maybe someone could try that in a lucid dream! Tell yourself over and over that you will always have lucid dreams and always rememeber them.

Did you know that when you are sleeping and lucid dreaming you can move your eyes in any which way you want(right left up down) in real life! Dr. Laberge and his students(helpers) used this to communicate certain things from the dream world to the real world when in the sleep lab!

Sorry, I got that from his book 'Exploring the world of lucid dreaming' and thought it was interesting.

for some people it took years... now those people are worthy to be called experts, it shows they had patience.

No offense Paperdoll but I knew that you would say something like that and that you would dissprove of hypnotism. But, why the heck do you really care what other people think about it. Well, if you want to be an expert guitar player and you get the hypnotist to make you be better than people won't respect you as much for your guitar playing. But lucid dreaming isn't a public thing and I don't think it matters how you learn/be able to do it. All that matters is your results. So, it doesn't matter if people say stuff like that about you as long as it works for you. If people said to you that flying was stupid (or whatever your favorite lucid activity is is stupid) than wouldn't you just tell them that it was fun for you (or prove them wrong with facts/tell them to shut the fu*k up or some version of the first one). I'm not saying that your wrong it's just your opinion and I obviously can't change it so it's all good I just felt like typing some stuff (my opinions).

Hey and liquid, good idea for you is to ask your dream guide/reacurring person/anyone you can find (depends on how desperate) to be in every one of your dreams and to make you lucid. Someone should try hypnotising themselves in a lucid dream and post your results. Oh, and yes I did know about the eye thing and that's one way that some scientists proved that lucid dreams are possible.

      BYE yall!

I see your point about how that if you "learned" lucid dreaming by hypnosis then, truly, you wouldn't be an expert. There is a saying (I don't know where it came from) that stated, "Geniuses are just very patient" or something like that and I agree with that saying so I agree with what you are saying but I still think that if you didn't want some sort of title of "lucid dreaming expert" and you had loads of money and you really wanted to lucid dream (and didn't give a crap what other people thought of it or you) then hypnotism that works is worth it.

I'm not considering hypnotism at least yet because I have only done lucid dreaming for about 3-4 months and with that little time hypnosis shouldn't be an option (for one) (for two) I'm only twelve and I don't have that type of money to spare (and for three) I haven't even done everything I can.

I have nothing more to say at the moment so I'll be waiting for a response.

PS: Paper Doll, how do you keep on getting the posts before mine right after I post them...

Oneironauts(oh-NIGH-ro-knots), as described in the book im reading, are "explorers of the dream world." So pretty much anyone that studies or experiments with lucid dreams or even non-lucid dreams is an oneironaut.

      You all are fellow oneironauts.

I just want to ask, I mean really who the FUCK cares if it takes years for othe 1 day for you via a different method. Its not a sport or competition. You're simply doing it for temporary high. If it took years for others and 1 day for somebody else then thats too damn bad, you don't owe them anything. I mean unless you're doing/practicing it for sport or competition then but if I could do it in 1 day I would. I wouldn't decline and practice every night for a year or so just because some other people I neither know nor care too much for took years with their chose of method.
