I just watched an episode of the Batman animated series where the Madhatter makes a dream machine to keep Batman out of business.

Bruce Wayne has the perfect life, one without him being a vigilante, one with a family and wealth. He figures out that he is dreaming when he couldn't recall his past life and when he couldn't read the print on the newspaper. After encountering the Madhatter in his dream, he says that this "perfect life" isn't real and he'd rather stay being Batman. Then he commits suicide to wake himself up, thus foiling the Madhatter's plans.

Is that cool or what?
