Is There Anybody Out There?

I've had a few recently, and one thing surprises me about all of them- There is never a single other person there. Ever! For example, yesterday I remember a dream in which I'l walking down my street in Autumn (Lots of foilage around here) and for some reason I think Ding! I'm dreaming! A reality check confirms this, and I jog down the street looking for someone to kick in the nuts. But... Nothing. Nary a soul anywhere. No problem, I think. I'll make someone. Nope! Control hasn't ever worked in my LD's. I really don't understand it. Why isn't there anyone else in my dreams?

Next time think of someone specific you'd like to see and walk through a door or turn around or go around a corner, worked for me. When I first read the title of the topic the Pink Floyd song popped and my head and I laughed out loud when I saw your avatar. Awesome.

That's where I got the idea. Actually, first I thought of the song before Comfortably Numb, THEN Is There Anybody Out There?

In the only LD I've had so far, I found myself in a big empty room. I walked through two more big empty halls before finding people, and it was that same almost twilight-zone feeling of aloneness in a world that should be inhabited. It wasn't creepy, though, more amusing than anything else. I knew there were other people around, I just needed to go find them. I wonder how common this experience is for first LD's? It's kind of fun to think of a "birthing" room for first-time LD'ers, where everyone comes into that world alone, and has to go find everyone else. Maybe it's our subconscious easing us gently into the LD experience.

Try saying to yourself when you are walking that there will be someone around the corner. Its easier to summon stuff if you don't see them.

It's also possible that they're all "in a meeting" or "at a party". You'll know where it's at, so just head towards wherever that place is and you should run into people. (Just another option.)
