i have never lucid dreamed and i was wondering if it ever gets tireing. do you ever just want to have a normal night sleep again? and also when you lucid dream do you wake up tired? or do you wake up as if you had just had a normal night of sleep. i also have another question. lets say you set yourself to start lucid dreaming as soon as you see..a duck. is there anyway to stop yourself from lucid dreaming one day when you see a duck becuase you want to have a normal dream? ok im done with my hard to understand rambleing.

      thanks,

Some people say you do but I don't feel any difference.

Also, if you have a cool fight in your lucid dream you'll wake up energized.

maybe it gets tiring after being in control so long?

we do it when we're awake, maybe some of us need a break of it when we sleep.

Hm...Well, I think that if you got to the point were getting lucid is a simple and normal thing, I believe that if you wanted to have normal dreams you could do this maybe: When you enter the dream, and if you are auto-lucid or whatever..Maybe you could just tell yourself that you are going to have normal dreams. And -bam-. Who knows? As far as dreaming being tiring, I never feel tired after a nights sleep, no matter if I dreamed about fighting on the front lines in WWII, or about sitting in a rocking chair. I don't seem to get tired from it, maybe if you try to hard. Just let it come eh?

None of the Lds have tired me yet. Why have dreams full of rules, if you have the waking life. The only difference between normal dreaming and lucid dreaming is that you are aware of the waking world while dreaming and that is in fact a really small difference, if we are talking about the "after effect" it's just a normal dream. So I really doubt you would get tired of it and don't forget the natural lucid dreamers.

Your mind is more active during lucid dreaming, so you should in fact get more tired, but as far as I know and what I've heard from different people, you can't feel it. I saw one person once though, who said he needed another one hour of sleep, but that's probably only in his imagination

Sometimes I get a bit tired of the work it takes for me to Lucid Dream regularly (auto-suggestion, LD journal, doing WBTB in the middle of the night, etc) - but I will never, ever, get tired of actually Lucid Dreaming. I would do it every single night if I could!

I don't think most people have to worry about that. It seems only one person in 100 ever develop the skill level or are natural enough so that all of their dreams are lucid. In fact, a 10% lucidity rate is pretty impressive.

I kind of like my non-lucid dreams. Don't get me wrong, lucid dreaming is pretty awesome, but some of the stuff that happens in non-lucids would be missed. such adventure!

I dont think that you are that much more tired after lucid dreaming (excluding extra long WBTBs or something). You have deep sleep to rest, and even if you have a LD every night you still have like 4 or 5 non-lucid dreams. If you have all LD's, then you don't feel more tired because you don't know what it is like to not have nights of no LD's.

After I have a LD, I defineatly feel more energized. During the whole day, I feel happier and livelier. I don't know if it is the dream or just a sense of accomplishment from a successful LD.

I think the only tiring thing about lucid dreaming for me is having to spend the time in the middle of the night writing my LD down before I can fall back asleep, as I tend to go into great detail and spend forever on it. But on the days that my lucid ends just as I'm waking up in the morning anyway, I feel just as groggy as normal

I don't have Lucid Dreams back-to-back but I think I have quite a few probably 3 or 4 a week but I never feel fatigue after them even during some of the longer ones. I think it all depends on your sleep pattern It may be different for those who uses methods to induce them before sleeping. I will say this I do feel a tad bit more tired after awaking from a lucid dream that I've entered via WILD. But usually if I auto-acknowledge within the dream then it's pretty much normal. I don't feel tired when I awaken.

LDs don't make me more tired then having regular dreams. Either way, during a regular dream or lucid dream, you mind is using a lot of energy.

Your physical body is still being rested, so you shouldn't feel more physically tired. Mentally tired, maybe, I'm not sure, but I've yet to feel mentally tired after waking up from a LD.

I always wake up with great energy after a lucid dream, but it's still fairly new to me. It's kind of like running takes energy, but I always come back from a good run with more energy than when I started. Not necessarily physical energy, but good mental energy. I think dreaming in general and lucidity requires a pretty good sleep state, so chances are if you're having a lucid dream, you got some good sleep as well.

That's not taking into account, of course, some of the methods which require all sorts of disruptions to the sleep schedule to try and induce lucidity, which is why I like DILD more than other methods.
The new evolutionary paradigm will give us the human traits of truth, of loyalty, of justice, of freedom. These will be the manifestations of the new evolution. And that is what we would hope to see from this. That would be nice.

alright, i guess i'll try to anser this as best i can.

I lucid dream every night. If i were to exert total control 24/7 it really would get boring. Fast. Thus i have found a nice fun balence. You don't need to control yourself in a lucid dream. Its so much more fun if the majority of the time you let your mind control you. (plus you can figure out stuff about yourself be watching your actions.) Then whenever you want to you can step in and change something. Its like a movie staring you that is interactive =P. Fun. I dont usually make big changes though. The most common thing I do is rewind time and choose another path to go down. Superhuman abilities make it more boring.

I would not choose normal dreams over LDs. Why choose a static movie over an interactive one? =)

I'll never get bored of LDing. I mean, you're going to be sleeping anyway, and getting the same quality sleep you would otherwise, so why not have LDs and control and use that 8 hours of sleep to experience something cool and exciting??
I mean, the possibilities are literally endless.

compleeeete opposite for me i wake up completely refreshed and stay that way throughout the day.
Our dreams are firsthand creations, rather than residues of waking life. We have the capacity for infinite creativity.

apart times like that, i still like LD. (the "duck" for me is flying, and sometimes i wonder if it is worth to waste a normal dream with a good story to risk to lose it soon doing something wrong in a lucid)

Any time I have a lucid dream I wake up feeling more energized and awake than if I had just had a normal (unconscious) dream. That continuity of awareness from sleeping to waking state eliminates the need for me to reorient myself after waking from a dream.

There are times when I try to become lucid during the night, fail to do so but have woken up many times as a result. That can be pretty tiring the next day.
