Have you tested this many times. I believe that if you do this and get a lucid dream. The reason why is just because you know you will. Similar to Placebo affect


For example one group of people (group A) are not given any medicine to recover from a cold.
one group of people (group B) are given a pill containing only sugar.


On average group B say they got better quicker than group A
