ok, i saw the movie waking life (i LOVED it, but thats beside the point) and in the movie that say that in a LD you cant change light levels, like tune a light in a room on and off.. i never noticed that before, and i was very pissed off about it, i think i remembered times that light levels did change in my regular dreams.. so that night when i LD'ed i was.. i think you can call it mad about that fact, and thats what i think made me very powerful inside the dream, not only did i changed light levels, turn on off and dimed the light, i also got the sun to rise and set at will.. in that ld i think i could really do whatever i wanted.. but than from that day, if i turn a swich it doesnt work.. how does all this system work with the lights in a dream, is there a diff lets say if i LD and turn a light swich or just dream and do it, i mean, if the dreaming mind controls the dream does it have more power than me? (i would amagin so..)
and r there more stuff that you technecly cant do in a dream or a ld?
or is it just a Q of how powerful you are?

Though I have not yet had a lucid dream, I gather that, depending on how lucid you are, you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to, from flight to light control.

Never seen waking life, but you shouldn't take it as gospel truth.

Note that WL is based on Lucid Dreaming but it isn't 100% accurate, it has been somewhat altered to make a better movie, of course :F

Some people may dissagree with me in regards to what I think of our true power levels in an LD. I know for a fact that within a regular dream you are more powerful because you are guided by your subconscious which is an abundance of Power without direction. It sucks that it's extremely hard to tap into your subconscious during an LD. I think no matter what level of Lucidity you may have in an LD you will never have the type of power you can get from your Subconscious.

There's a study about changing light levels on lucidity.com. They found about 50% of LDers can change light levels.

One theory is that it depends on your subconscious expectation. Another theory is that it depends how old you were IWL when you learned how light switches work.

Light switches work for me in most NDs and LDs.

When I began to lucid dream I had heard from somewhere that you could not yell your name out loud. For that particular individual, he probably could not because he believed he could not.
It seemed strange to me why you could not-------------I quickly put that rumor to rest.

When you are lucid you are conscious. In return, your confidence can play a role it what you can and can't do. It seems easy to say (it's a dream, I can do anything) But our conscious minds have perceived things and been conditioned so much by our waking life surroundings that it is sometimes hard to get your subconscious to manifest something in a dream.

i also got the sun to rise and set at will.[/b]
you got the sun to rise in your lds too huh? i love doing that its awesome I dont believe in any of that light level stuff. if the light switch doesnt work thats one thing but there are so many other ways to change light levels they cant possibly all not work in an ld.
