      Questions Regarding Planning Dreams

Question One, if I pick a particular place or scernario I want to dream about, and I tell myself I will dream about it, is it likely to work?

Ex. I want to dream about being in a German Trench of WWI, If I lay there and tell myself I will have a dream of me in the Trenches, would I likely have a dream about that?

Question Two, if I did this, and I did have a dream about the German Trenches am I more likely to go lucid?

      Thanks for helping out everyone!

Yes, and yes. Though neither is a guaranteed thing. But it's always worth a try.

Yeah, and yeah...just like Squall said.

Also, every time you hear something about the Germans, or trenches, or WW2...then do a reality check

You can use dream incubation method. It works for me. Basically think about WW1 and trenches all day, imagine yourself in it, feel it, hear it, move around.
Think about it as often as you can during a day and 80% you will get it at night...
however you may not get lucid...

Woo? I never heard of this visualizing war method? Did you guys talk about this earlier? I must have missed it. I'm learning about WWII in Euro and American History right now and we just got through WWI.

I'm going to try this method. >.<

dream incubation = you think about *any* event you want to participate in for about 1-3 days. After 1-3 days of thinking about it, you will have to wait 0-7 days to get dream you want.

It is based upon "day residue" principle - anything unusual you experience during the day has a great chance of entering your dreams.

I've experienced it on numerous occasions. Sometimes I induced it, sometimes I didnt. But main thing is - it *works*

Telling yourself you wanna dream about something will work. But you just havbe to believe that it will. Belief is HALF the battle when planting autosuggestions. If you fully believe that you will dream about what you want to dream about then it will happen. Now once you believe you wanna get yourself in a state where autosuggestions like that will have more of an effect on your subconscious mind. So heres what you do.

Breath deeply and relax. Tense your fist fully and then let completly let go of it. Put apsolutly no control over it. Just let it flop. Now do this to your whole body while breathing deeply.

After a couple mintes (at leat 5) of doing this count down from 100 to 1 with each time breathing deeper. Then finally once you reach one tell yourself what you wanna dream about.
Now you will take this very literally so you should also wanna tell yourself some details. What i mean by that is you might say "I wanna dream about clouds." when you want to be in coulds. You might have a dream with just you and your friends talking about clouds. That's why it is important to give yourself some details such as the theme. Not to many though you want to surprise yourself.

I used this process several times before I even tried or cared about going lucid.

This leads to a good strategy for going lucid. Tell yourself what you wanna dream about and tell yoruself when you see a specific object that you KNOW will come up during this dream you will ask your self are you dreaming. Cool, ain't it.
