I find myself daydreaming ALL the time. About what I would dream about were I to go lucid, what I might say to my dream girl, etc... Just daydreaming.

I was just wondering: If one daydreams constantly, can it take away from your "sleep" dreams? As in, does daydreaming replace regular dreaming if done too often? I was thinking about trying to be in a meditative state for a whole day, in the hopes of increasing my recall and perhape clarity.

well, I didn't understand what exactly are you trying to say
but I usually do this, so when I have LD I immediately remember what I want to do so I don't waste time

Isn't daydreaming just imagining things? I kind of doubt that it has anything to do with dreaming.

I know, daydreaming is just imagining things, but isn't "sleep" dreaming just one's mind imagining things?

I'm looking for any possible reasons for my bad recall. I know it's a stretch, but that's why I asked. Does anybody else daydream and have poor recall? Or does anybody else NOT daydream and have excellent recall? Is there any link between the two?

It's kind of hard to explane. When I imgaine things I just see a picture in my mind. In a dream all my senses are included and I actually see things "with my eyes".
I don't think they have any major connection. I am more of a silent type and I imagine/think almost all the time. So in your theory I wouldn't dream at all. The things that reduce recall for me are: too litle time spent sleeping, stress, not writing in the DJ because I don't have time. My recall would probably go up if I started waking up douring the night, but it wouldn't work out well with school and all... Did you try self hypnosis, meditation, and that stuff, it also probably has a lot to do with the way you wake up.
I don't think there are many people who don't daydream. Only robots do that , I mean people who aren't aware of themselves at all and just do the same thing day after day (wake up-work-dinner-sleep-wake up-...)

Ok, then no worries. When I dream, it is most often, if not always like seeing things through a camera. However, I've had a select few dreams (the really memorable ones) that have been like you said: full sensory.

So, I know that my mind is capable of these types of dreams, and that I probably already dream them every night, but just cannot remember... Arg, I'm getting sick of this!

I've tried meditation (if by meditation you mean 61-point relaxation technique, etc...) and such, but never self-hypnosis. When I repeat a mantra in my head over and over again, it just keeps me up.

btw, I bet there are a lot more "robot" people than you'd suspect! (my parents, my family, my boss, etc... lol)

If in my dreams is the only way to be with you.....then let me dream forever.~</span>
