Here is a list of things that you should not do in your lucid dreams. This should serve as a reference for beginners and experts alike. I will edit this post periodically, including everybody's suggestions.

Don't use the computer!
By Coolv

"Here is the thing that ruined last night's lucid dream: When I was in the dream, I was in my house. I saw that the computer was on and there was an interesting website on. I decided to sit down, thinking "What the heck. I'll just get back to my plan as soon as I look at how computers work in lucid dreams!"

Of course, I looked at the webpage and got up from the computer. Unfortunately, I was now to distracted to do a task.

This leads me to the next thing that you shouldn't do in lucid dreams, namely:"

Don't get distracted or let your thoughts run wild.
By Coolv

"In my dream, I sat down on a chair and started to think about some random topic. Bingo! The easiest way to either lose lucidity or wake up in real life (IRL). I ended up waking up."

Don't close your eyes
By Seeker

"That is unless you are trying to either wake up or induce a false awakening.

Closing your eyes is usually the kiss of death in an LD."

Don't panic
By Amethyst Star

"If you find that you're lucid and afraid that you'll lose it, don't freak out because that's the best way to wake right back up. Just relax. My advice is to relax and focus on how your dream body feels. By doing so, I'm guessing that you'll be less likely to return to your real sleeping body."

If you are having trouble opening your eyes, don't pry them open!
By freefire

"(I) wasted half a ld on doing this lol after that i realized that i could just see through my eyelids if i wanted to"

Don't have sex in your first lucids.
By Jess and Marvo

"Don't shag the nearest dream character! Unless you want to of course, but I know I've done it when I didn't plan to and it wasted the short lucid dream because I didn't do something constructive!"

"The climax will wake you up. Sex in dreams is (mostly) for experienced lucid-dreamers."

Always have a plan
By LucidDreamGod

"Always have a plan, [or else] as soon as you get in the LD you'll probably spend all your time thinking and thinking tends to waste time, and you will end up walking endlessly through most lucids wondering what to do, a plan also helps you become lucid, and you should always stabilize to increase length and vividness."

Be sure to post your ideas/experiences too!
