Oh dang why didn't I ever think of that during those 2 ld's I had.

Always have a plan, as soon as you get in the LD you'll probably spend all your time thinking and thinking tends to waste time, and you will end up walking endlessly through most lucids wondering what to do, a plan also helps you become lucid, and you should always stabilize to increase length and vividness.
