Hey all, long time no activity on this forum. Haven't thought much about LD and never have had one. Got close mind you though. Been thinking about it recently and want to do it, but I have no motivation. Can anyone give me any? A short post... but hey.

You want a motivation, here you go! How about being able to fulfill every twisted fantasy you ever dreamed of, like having sex, Flying (which is exponentially better than sex), having mystical experiences, etc.

Don't give up, just stick around, read the tutorials, and it's just matter of time until you'll get one.

How about, a Dream journal, for starters!

Kneeling down and then SHOOTING into the sky is a feeling I will never forget, soaring over the land.

Unfortunately motivation must come from within. Nothing we say will change it unless you trudge through this dry period. Once you get a good long one... oh things will change.

another boring day at work right? wrong! you are dreaming and decided that you dont need a job go into your bosses room and smack him across the head. after he fires you, you make his tie burst into flames and jump out the window saying "screw that! i quit!!!" as you fall down the 40 stories to the ground. you hit the ground and just get back up teleport yourself to the white house and take over. just one of the many things you can do in a lucid dream.

Why not have sex and fly at the same time? I'm a genious! Now if only I could have a lucid dream and try this out...

Or you could do what I did and get yourself stuck in power lines. XD

Actually, LDing is a whole lot better then that. There's nothing like waking up after your first LD, the feeling is amazing. Anything you can imagine, you can do. Be excited that you are learning something that not many people know how to do, and while the rest of the world is sleeping, you can be having the adventure of a lifetime.

most my LDs involve flying.. once.. i was a dragon!!! it was crazy fun
Love slips through my grasp once again

Its funny how wrong you can be about a person.
you think they love you, and it turns out to be a lie.
you think you know them, and they turn out to be the exact opposite

A dream, a nightmare, no! A vision, a vision.. of invasion

      Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason

I would kiss you if I hadn't promised myself I wouldn't have sex in a dream

      ... and If I was gay ...

anyhow ... imagin asking out the girl of your dreams, and finding out just what to say

      (^--- one of my goals)

there is also flying (as mentioned above), swimming, exploring space, visiting Santa and being a normal person in a normal world ... okay, not so normal a person using super powers for fun!

If you ask me, this forum is enough motivation for me. The members here are great - and just reading their questions and stories is entertaining! Plus, they're awesome people.

But having some cool experiences of your own helps out, too As mentioned above, your first piece of homework is to start a dream journal. Write down anything and everything. Good luck!

First lay out what you want to do in the dream. be it flying, (or in Draven's case, becoming a dragon) and immerse yourself completely into that topic and LDing for a day (or two). Soon enough, you'll get to thinking about it all the time, and it'll just naturally carry over.

Also, i find that the longer I have the intention of doing something in an LD, the easier it becomes, because the more you think about it, the more certain you are of your ability to do it.

Here's your motivation. Take the top five most awesome things you can imagine doing. Combine them all. Multiply by two. This is a lucid dream.

Simply the idea of being able to apply my imagination not only to what's inside my head, but also to whatever I can see is enough motivation for me...

Once you have exhausted all of your fantasies (which could be a very long time) then you can begin to use your ld ability as a means of self-discovery. This is the true reward.
What a long, strange trip it's been.
