      Thumbs up

      Hey!

I'm sorry if the title didn't make much sense,
I wasn't sure how to summarize my question.

try out new behaviours and test yourself under different situations and scenarios
      [/b]

This was under the.. um, Social something in reasons to LD on the main page, I believe.
      I'd love to try this.

Now, I've also read about how DCs are complete idiots. For example,
the entire "DCs say the darndest things" topic.

How are you supposed to rehearse [things that involve others]
and such, if the reactions from the DCs are completely wild?
I mean, my one experience with a dream character went:
Moi: Are you aware you're dreaming?
Boy [T]: I want to read a Seventeen magazine...

I'm sorry if that was long,
I'm not sure how to summarize it into a neat little one-line question
I am just hoping you'll understand what I mean
But thanks for any and all replies!

So you are saying that you want to use LD's as a sort of "testing ground" for real life situations? I'm not sure if I've fully grasped what it is you are saying.

      Yes, that was essentially it.

      But I think, I..
      regret posting this.

Lol, is there any way to delete your own topic?

      Damnit...

There's no need to a delete it, its not a bad question. It just seems a little obvious..

The answer to this question lyes in what you perceive dreams to really be. If you think they are just random thoughts compiled throughout the day, then yes, obviously testing out real situations would seem somewhat useless and do more harm than good.

If you think dreams are much more than that, then you could go on to believe, that the dream characters you are practicing on could somewhat resemble what you might encounter in real life.

That thread you are talking about is pretty good evidence that what dream characters say are random, but what do I known?

      Hope this helped.

Most dreams are random, yes, but some are not. And those are the ones that are more likely to have some sort of impression on me.

Just think of it like this: If you are not lucid, you cannot control whether a dream is random or sensible, meaningful or crappy. If you are sufficiently lucid, you stand a much higher chance of making a dream what you want it to be.

Im sure if you are lucid enough you can make them say realistic things, but you must remember it will still only be your subconciouses best guess. However keeping in mind it is your subconsious which reads others body language it would infact probably be very good guess. So yes I believe it woulld be possible.
