Hi! I just read that pyramids with some geometries help for meditation and gives more lucid dreams. Have you tried this? I have no idea.

Also do you know if there are any mind machines that works well? Such as those with sound + light or anything else.

I own a light and sound machine. It is called an Esprit and has an input jack for adding other sound sources such as those from a cd. Yes they work very well for meditating. I saw a new state of the art one today for about $250.00 online. If you are interested I will try to find a link.

Not sure about the pyramid question although I do know a bit about the sacred geometry and alignment theory behind their architecture.
In the process of realizing the dream, abandon all feeling of fear; And, if the dream be of fire, transform the fire into water, the antidote of fire. And if the dream be of minute objects, transform them into large objects; Or if the dream be of large objects, transform them into small objects: Thereby one comprehendeth the nature of dimensions.
And if the dream be of a single thing, transform it into many things; Or if the dream be of many things, transform them into a single thing. - Tibet

I have a Proteus mind machine from Mind Place and I find it works well for relaxation/meditation.

Hi! Sorry for late answer. How deep can you get with these machines? It still takes intention and concentration i guess? The goal in Buddhism and Yoga is to find out who we are. Consciousness or Rigpa. For that Dream and sleep Yoga is used in Tibetan Buddhism. They say when one can keep awarness in Delta brainwaves (deep sleep) then you experience real self (Rigpa) and the "natural light". They practise this to be prepared when the body dies so that they will not lose consciousness as i understand it. And also to have the "rainbow body".

Itīs also called Yoga Nidra and Yogic sleep. But to not lose awarness there is very hard. So i was thinking if these machines could help with this practise also.

How deep you can get still depends on the person. Using it over time is supposed to train the mind to achieve these states easier. You are right that you still need to keep your concentration. Its very easy to just let go and let the mind wander. All in all, if your (sp?) serious about meditation I don't think its a substitute for the old fashioned way. I use it to get myself relaxed before meditation. If you have the expendable income it might be worth looking into. If not, I wouldn't make it a priority purchase.

There are some articles at the link you might be interested in reading.

      Hey Cookies,

I'm by no means an accomplished meditator. It's something that's always interested me (along with Buddhism in general) yet I don't regularuly meditate. However, I do have a PR-X200 mind machine that I use without the LED glasses (they're broken) for the brain wave function. I often have trouble falling asleep without white noise and putting on a 30 minute program with my mind machine has been for me an excellent way to relax and fall asleep easily. From this experience, I can confidently say mind machines are useful in relaxing and focusing on nothing.

If you do get one, I'd love to hear your experiences with it.

Also - http://mindmachines.com is a good place to get mind machines.

Personally I'm saving up for the $100 Sirius machine.
