      I never really got any good when i had th chance to do it, and I have tried it about once this christmas break

      but when one is in the army on very little sleep, is it possible to lucid dream other than by accident ??

      Depends on how much sleep time you have.
      if you have 6 hours of sleep thats a big loss because less REM but its possible, if theres 8 hours yes

      nah get like 6and a half if im lucky.

      Well, that's not strictly true. It's usually a good guideline to get 8 hours of sleep for maximum REM, but when you're sleep deprived you slip into REM much faster, so three or four hours of sleep will get you plenty of REM and thus plenty of lucid opportunities. Three to four hours is an overstatement, really--a quick nap for under an hour will give you some REM sleep, just not a lot.
      The problem with sleep deprivation is that by the time you fall asleep you're exhausted, and a lot more likely to miss opportunities to become lucid that you would've caught otherwise.
