I havnet posted on these forums in a while, ever since I had my first LD about a month ago. I actually quit lucid dreaming after my first LD, because I just thought that it would come naturally. Gradually I started caring less and less, not writing dreams in dream journal, no RC's, no meditation, no WBTB, nothing.

Today it all changed. I had my second(and third) LD without doing anything for a month. It was ever more vivid(9/10), more realistic, and I had more control then the first one. It was really realistic, like I was actually in the real world, maybe even a little more vivid. I had total control, and did many cool things like teleporting, or increasing clarity, flying etc.

Now that I had an unexpected Lucid dream, that left me feeling like I was on top of the world(lol), I am eager to get back to the whole practice. But I know that eventually I will lose my motivation(just like I did before). My question for you guys is how to stay motivated enough to do all the things necessary to have lucid dreams often, and are RC's really necessary? how often?
      Lucid Dreams: 6
      Average Control - 7/10
      Average Clarity - 7.5/10
      Average Vividness - 8.5/10

staying motivated is probably the most easy thing about it... just think of all the possibilities that you could wind up doing in a dream. think of the fun... and then there's the wild DC sex that i hear some people going on about

Well, I suppose it depends on the type of person you are, but try to
get involved in the community. Make some friends, and try to get an adopter.
Talking about it often should keep you pumped, and if you have an adopter,
you're obligated not to give up.

      As for the RCs..
They'll help, sure, but are not "necessary."
And how often? Well, I don't know about that.
But everyone is different, right? It'll vary greatly.

Firstly, welcome back to the forum!

Having some cool LDing experiences is definitely enough to keep your motivation high, but other things you could do can include reading a LDing-related book, discussing dreaming or LDing with a friend/family member to find someone to share your interest with, and, of course, log onto DV regularly!
