      New

Hi, I just learned about Lucid Dreaming and all that jazz so I figured I'd try it out. The site I looked at first told me to get your dream recall working better and I tried what it said and had about 4 dreams last night. So tonight I think I'm going to try to have a lucid dream.

I've heard people talk about telling yourself something before sleeping that should make you realize that you are dreaming. My problem is all my dreams are incredibly wierd and are rarely re-occuring dreams.

What are everyone's methods for realizing that you are in a dream?

The method that has worked for me is the one you said already, right before I fall asleep I keep repeating in my head that I will have a lucid dream, and I will remember it in the morning. I must say though, I'm not all that good at it.

      my method

lately i have been repeating to my self to have a lucid dream, and brining up having a lucid dream randomly throughout the day. and then i try to realize in my dream to have a lucid dream in my dream and i do. the only problems are, i dont do a logic check and i keep waking up in a different dream lol. i went strait to flying, and the dream spinning does work. my mind keeps thinking theres an infinite black void beyond my dream sky lol, i keep flying to high and waking up in a new dream lol.

Neo-I did the exact same thing last night. Had a dream beyond my control, then a very short lucid dream, woke up, then an hour later long uncontrolable dreams.

Heh, spinning hasn't worked for me yet... The 3 times I've tried it, it's resulted in one awakening into sleep paralysis, one regular awakening, and one blackening of the dreamworld... Tactile stuff does work well though, I find rubbing your hands or in one case, whacking yourself on the hand with a metal bar from a clothing rack at the mall works well... (Dream metal bar, don't use a real one, you'll get a nasty bruise...)
