speaking of sleeping with the television on, does anyone else find that they need to have some kind of device running in their room to get to sleep? When I moved into my new house a few years ago they moved the computer into my room and while during the day you did other activities you didn't notice it, at night the sound of the thing just idling would drive me up a wall. I originally tried out earplugs but over time they got messed up and for some reason I dislike having the sound of my pulse beating in my ears. I finally ended up leaving the fan on and that's how I get to sleep now. It's nice to have a breeze blowing over your face and a wind sound in your ears. I find that even now it's harder to fall asleep if I don't turn the fan on, it can be below freezing outside and I'll have the fan on full blast (I bundle up of course&#33

I tried music and rain soundtracks, nothing beats my fan

Haha that's quite funny, but understandable.

I think there is something in the sound of moving air that puts us to sleep. I use a high speed buffer to do floors sometimes, and on nights when I didn't get much sleep the sound of it stirring the air (exactly like a fan) always puts me to sleep. I run into poles and all sorts of things. Anyhow, next time I get insomnia I'll try a fan
