Hey, i've been trying to lucid dream for nearly 2 months, my dream recall went uphill recently but last night and the night before it deteriorated, i don't remember any dreams last night and i did the same as i would any other night. I haven't had a lucid dream in a while, only had 2, i'll be fine once i've had my third because the inspiration i get from it will keep me going but i feel asthough i'm running round in circles and getting nowhere. I feel asthough i'm not going to be able to properly lucid dream ever.

Quitters never win, and winners never quit. Obviously, I can't stop you from stopping LDing altogether, but I would advise against it. So far, since I've been trying, I've had 4, 3 of them were jokes, and the 1 that I did have that was alright wasn't even very good. My dream recall isn't the greatest, yet I am not even considering quitting.

The moral of that was: Don't give up buddy, you can do it.

I know exactly how you feel. Last night I had my first lucid dream in over a month. It was pissing me off to no end. But don't worry, you'll get another one eventually.
Reality? Where? Did I miss it?

Do NOT give up. Even without the LDs, your dreams are so interesting and exciting - it's such a waste to just forget them every morning. And you WILL get an LD some time. I had a big 'dry spell'/'spell where I couldn't be bothered' a few months ago, but I really wanted to get back into LDing. It's so worthwhile

Haha, to be honest when I was starting I acutally did quit.

Then like a week after I quit I had the most intense LD in my life(well up to that point). That was like a kick in the nuts of Willpower!

I had my first LD yesterday, it was really really short. Don't quit though, because all of that time that you spend trying to do it is worth it in the end. Just image, a controllable dream....

Don't worry about it man. Everyone has dry spells. Look at the NHL, lots of good players have crappy seasons some times.

definately look into methods...I used to try MILD all the time with no success, then VILD with highly limited success, autosuggestion was below average but still gave me LD's, WILD didn't work, but then I found out I wasn't doing it properly, when I figured it out WILD accompanied by autosuggestion worked extremely well (of course all autosuggestion is, is believing you can and will do it that night, so that's probably a must for every night)

Just keep trying different things, think of it as an art or a science, try new things, play around, fuse methods, make up your own, whatever works for you, once you find your niche' things will become much easier...

well i can't say that im sucessfull because i havn't ever induced a lucid dream with intention. Its random, each night i go too bed and try and stay conscious as i go too sleep but i failed to date, i go too bed at 12 and set my alarm just before one of my REM periods, about 5:45-6:00 in the morning and then i wake up but i am always to knackered in the morning to remember to think about dreaming, i hit my alarm clock and fall straight back too sleep, what can you suggest?

Depends. Just experiment with each method. If you have a lot of time to sleep, like on weekends, try the MILD method. If its on weekdays, try DILD. And whenever you're bored, and have nothing to do, try WILD. I personally have tried DILD before, it's way too hard in my opinion, and takes A LOT of tries, thats why I suggested trying to do it on weekdays, when you would normally go to sleep at night. Try the MILD on weekends, because you need to go to sleep over 2 times for that one, so it takes a lot of time. The only method that has worked for me has been WILD, and it really doesn't take that long, about an hour, but it takes a lot of concentration, and almost no distractions. Basically just experiment with each method, every person has a different method that works for them. Go to the ''attaining lucidity'' section on the forum, check out the posts, and if there's any method, try it whenever you have time.

To confort you lucid_seeker, I have not had any little 30 seconds of lucid dream for over a year and a half and I used to have frequent and sometimes long ones before. Just don't know what happened. Maybe I've lost some spiritual connection.

Never quit. Just remember; it's mind over matter, if you don't mind, it don't matter.
