Man, I have this all the time, it's died down a lot though since I start Lucid Dreaming. |

Last night as I was falling asleep I started to imagine, I guess it was HI walking down a set of stairs. This didn't feel like a dream but on the verge of one. Then I would suddenly trip and feel it physically in my bed, like I just fell down on the bed. Ive had this before, seems to be on nights where I am really tired and there has been different situations all of them I either fall or trip though. What is this a sign of? I hear people have a falling sensation when passing into dreamstate but whenever I have this I always hit the ground and then wake up. Maybe there is a way to turn this to my advantage? |

Hahah, this comes up in a new thread every other week, it seems. |

I never knew there was a word for this, Merlock. Thanks for posting that. I've had strange half-dreams of tripping over tree roots for years, and I always wondered what on earth they could be. |

This adds excitement to sleeping. Well..no, no it doesn't. When you share a roommate who has the same sensations it's actually amusing...almost. One of us will just spasm, sleepily informing the other that they just fell down. |

<div align="center">It was a dream...
..don't ask.</div>
i thought i was the only one that this happened too, i'm glad i'm not alone, it always gets me, its like your bodys reacting to something that it thinks it there |
|
Yeah Merlock I think its kind of fun too. I get it a lot, especially when I'm very tired. I like it, makes falling asleep a lot more interesting anyways. |

I had a strange dream last night...
Yeah me too I thought I was the only one also |

"I said goodbye to the ground"
I did that all the time when I'd fall asleep in school. I'd usually see something comming straight at my head just after I fell asleep. I'd jerk my head up really fast (stfu) and half of my class would look over. I'm not sure if it was the (uncomfortable) position I was sitting in, but it only happened at school. It rarely ever happens when I'm in bed. |
|
It happens mostly when you are REALLY tired, I can't explain why, but it is called Myoclonic Jerk or Hypnic Jerk. It is when you are really tired and your body tries to keep itself awake. That made no sense, well it's like, your brain is falling asleep, but your body isn't asleep yet. That's pretty much how I understand it anyway, it was on House and I asked my dad who is a doctor if thats what it really is and he said yeh. |
|
Haha, yeah that wiki describes it dead on. |
