No need to stop posting, who cares if you annoy? your following the rules. Anyway, It took me a few weeks, and I'm nowhere near consistently being able to have them. So far I've had around 12, none longer than maybe 30 secs as far as I know. The thing you must remember is patience...the most important...everyone gets frustrated but don't give up..because once you succeed (which You will) you will realize it was well worth the effort. I suggest beggining, just by doing a few reality checks during the day. Say, set your watch to beep every hour, and then all you gotta do (this is pretty much how I do it) try to breath in through your piched nose. You will find if you are awake, you will notbe able, but if you are in a dream you will. YAY! Just make sure not to let it become reflex, look around, ask youself "Could I possibly be dreaming? " do the RC, think about LD'ing for a moment (a fantasy can't hurt) and then off you go about your buisness till the next hour, or whatever time you want to do it... |

Brothers & Sisters in Dreams
I think it was 10 days or less for me... |

I had my first LD within a week of doing some active research about the topic. It was a very short DILD. Of course, after that I went about a month without one until I started reading EWOLD. |

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I really appreciate it. |

I don't exactly remember when I really got into lucid dreaming, but when I had mine I was mostly interested in Astral Projection, and had only heard bits about lucid dreams. I got lucky and had my first lucid on Jan 30, and I had been interested in Astral Projection since the previous summer. Now my focus has shifted to lucid dreaming... I wasn't using any specific method for lucid dreaming then. |

I know that for me, I started having lucid dreams before I tried to have them or even knew what they were. |
|
Last night was day number 6 and I had my first false awakening and as I was falling back asleep in my false awakening I did the nose RC and had about a 5 second lucid in which I watched all the buildings around me morph. Pretty cool. |

Yes, be patient and you'll be a lucid master in no time! |

LD count:15
DILD: 8 + (1 lucid without control and 3 with lousy recall)
FILD: 1
DEILD: 1
Incubated lucid dreams: 1
That sounds like good advice to people who have short lucids but I don't recommend the spinning, the few times I've tried that I've either lost lucidity or lost the dream |

Ok now for my second questions. |

Last night I woke up at 3:41 in the morning with an intent to do a WBTB. It was thundering so loud I couldn't fall back asleep for more than a half hour after writing down my dreams. When I did fall asleep, I dreamed that I was still trying to fall asleep. I'm getting closer and closer everyday. It's been exactly one week since I started trying and I think any day now I'll have my first lucid. |

2) I used basically just a dream journal and reality checks until last week when I induce my first WILD. |

Thanks again for your replys. It's a really great community you guys have got here and I hope to someday be a part of it. |

It took me about a month to get my first lucid. I got my first one (and many more) just by performing reality checks throughout the day and also knowing in my mind that I would soon (pretty muc DILD). I have had some success w/ WILDs, but I haven't relly been trying them very consistently. Good luck!!! |
|
It took me three days, at first my lucid dreams were lasting about 30 seconds each. Then as I focused more on it and did reality checks on a regular basis. Now my lucids average about 20-30 minutes each. You just have to believe in yourself. |

Lucid Dream Count: 19
It took me about 1 week of RCing and thinking about Lucid dreaming to get my first lucid, since then I've had 1-2 lucids/week . |

Currently practicing WILD. I quote Kaniaz who said it best: "The point of WILD is to piss me off". Though, I have not given up, far from it.
1. 16 days since I really started trying (i.e. I joined this site and got an understanding for wtf LDing is), though I had had a few before and thought, "I really want to do this again, I bet there are a ton of possiblities", but I really didn't know what LDing was then. (I know the exact # of days because I looked in my dream journal answering a similar question a few days ago.) This LD I didn't recall though, and just knew I had it, and if you want LDs where I actually remembered what happened, then add a few more weeks (though I still haven't had one with Good control). |
|
I had my lucid after the first day of reading these forums. The first weeks were great, until I tried to WILD. Those attempts ruined my sleep cycle and had me at their mercy for months on after. I think Im ready to come back though! |

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." -Albert Einstein
Since trying to LD it took me two weeks exactly to have my first one. I keep a dream journal and use update it regularly. Oddly enough, I don't think I used a technique, it was just an odd situation and I realized I was dreaming, I guess the method would be called DILD. |
