I have had several brushes with sleep paralysis I think, last nights being the closest thing to sleep paralysis I have ever experienced (wasn't NEARLY as scary as I thought SP would be) Okay, last night, I was really tired because of a 17 hour day, 2 periods of sport and a heavy bag. It was 1am+ and I was lying in bed trying to get to sleep, I roll over so I am laying relatively supine(on my back) and I relax. After I don't know how long, I started seeing and feeling things, but still being aware of my body in bed. This is all I remember of it, and I remember no details. Other 'brushes', I guess, with SP have happened randomly, mainly when I am tired. These brushes only consist of the feeling of spinning, falling, rocking and something grabbing or jolting me from behind.

If what happened last night IS sleep paralysis... WILD time
need to actually start like trying to LD i've pretty much started that now kinda.

As far as I can remember, I've never had sleep paralysis. would be cool to experience it once, aside from the fear, but I'd probably get excited if I knew what it was.
Closest I can recall was last night, I felt something funny on my legs, like the blanket was really heavy, and it was difficult to move and I didn't really want to, but I could move nonetheless...

hi, i only joined this forum recently when i found out abut LDing. Before this forum i just thought it was normal to sometimes be able to control your dreams, i pretty much always know i'm dreaming except for very dull, fuzzy ones, and then every so often i have a lucid, like today i was tired this morning at about t10 o clock so lied down and had a dream, and knew i was dreaming but then turned lucid and tried jumping on a train going down the road :yumdumdoodledum: lol , like i was trying to force my self into the air and i was like oo thats weird i can feel my body in bed trying to jump, like tensing lol. and i have experienced sleep paralysis a lot, my way of LDing ( not always controlling them though) is to just tense all my muscles and then relax and just lie there watching the lights on the back of my eyelids (the start of your brains imagery and most of the time i don't even notice i've fallen asleep which is very strange because i still think i'm awake and then after a little while just seeing vague pictures fly past if i kind of concentrate but not to hard on them they expand and i kind of step into the dream, but after a while when i'm picking a dream if u want to call ti that or if i just go in a dream ill suddenly change my mind or for some reason become frightened by something etc... something makes me jump, even in the dream sometimes it can still feel like i'm awake, like i can feel my body in my bed so i got to sit up or move and open my eyes to get out the dream and my muscles just tense up but don't move, like your being pinned down by an invisible force, it is quite alarming sometimes because the dream carries on while your are trying to .;;.. escape really, lol. its alarming even if you know your doing it..... not really the most amazing thing ever, you have to be really conscious that your are asleep or thinking your still awake when you have actually gone to sleep its weird and i am finding it hard to explain hence why i am blabbering on, sorry lol.

( oh yeah something to add cant member where to add it though, i started of by being interested by the patterns that you see when you close your eyes at night when i was about .... 12 or 13 was the first LD i can remember, in the way i said about in this post)

I think I just had an SP experience last night actually...as I was falling asleep I had my mind very preoccupied with other things...I guess it triggered the start of a WILD, but I didn't actually go through it.

What happened was, as I lay there, I suddenly felt like somebody threw a baseball or something at my head from a short distance (it didn't hurt, it was a bump). When I opened my eyes, I saw a dark circle in the middle of my line of vision lke i described before and it shrunk away. I think I was surprised enough, that I bailed out of it just as it was starting.
