I very much doubt you cant do a WILD during anesthisia. Because in WILD you need to be concious. But anasthesia knocks your brain out too. |

Okay so soon i have my wisdom teeth removal. And i was wondering if you can lucid during anesthsia, or dream at least. I'm going to try to think of Lucid dreaming and try a mini wild before being knocked out. The surgery is for wisdom teeth. |

I would guess that full anesthsia is a very deep sleep and you will probably not become lucid even if you do dream. |

I have never dreamed during general anesthesia, let alone lucid dreamed. I seriously doubt you would ever have the chance of going into REM during anesthesia since you're body and brain are completely sedated. |

In the process of realizing the dream, abandon all feeling of fear; And, if the dream be of fire, transform the fire into water, the antidote of fire. And if the dream be of minute objects, transform them into large objects; Or if the dream be of large objects, transform them into small objects: Thereby one comprehendeth the nature of dimensions.
And if the dream be of a single thing, transform it into many things; Or if the dream be of many things, transform them into a single thing. - Tibet
I don't know if you have a knack for WILD, but if so, you could probably learn self-hypnosis fairly quickly. You can achieve anasthesia/analgesia in a couple of minutes with self-hypnosis, and you wouldn't need general anasthesia. Those drugs are horrible for you. Why do you think anasthesiologists pay so much in malpractice insurance? There have been quite a few deaths both from allergic and nonallergic reactions. While I don't mean to scare you (BOO!, general anasthesia always entails risks. See if you can get a local anasthetic or learn self-hypnosis. It's both fun and useful to be able to trigger the secretion of endorphins at will. Learning self-hypnosis is well-worth the (not terrible) learning curve IMHO. If you do end up having general anasthesia, it's not likely that anything will go wrong. I've had it twice, and I didn't have any problems. Just don't get it if you don't have to. |
